With that he is still probably one of the top 2 or 3 centers this year. Wait till next year when he feels better and has a coach that will utilize his skills.

I clicked the story. I read. I commented. I really shouldn’t encourage non-articles like this…

I’ll ask the follow-up question–What value does Dwight Howard (or DH, or D12, or whatever stupid nickname) have to anyone going forward?

–Back problems may ease but rarely go away
–Little or no offensive game beyond being tall
–Tentative on defense, due to the back and due to being butt-sore about…something or other
–Can’t be counted on late in games, mostly due to execrable free throw shooting
–Doesn’t appear interested in listening to coaches or teammates
–He’s what, 28? Isn’t it time we stop talking about his “potential”?

Don’t get me wrong, he’s hardly the only thing wrong with the Lakers this year. My point is that he’s hardly the answer, for the Lakers or anyone else.

Because of his current injuries he has no value to a team trying to make a push this year. So the “Rent-a-Dwight” thing is out.

And, I certainly cannot imagine any GM in the NBA thinking that if they sign trade for him now, that it will make a single iota of difference to him when he decides where to sign this summer.

So again, I ask, what value does Dwight D12 Howard have to anyone right now???

At some point the hype has to meet the expectations and he has done nothing but disappoint EVERYBODY.

I get the impresion that his career is really already over due to injuries and he’s doing his best to leverage what health he has left into another big contract before he’s done.

The eyeball test tells me mentally he’s already checked out, and with how he played earlier in his career i have to believe he checked out because physically he’s lost what he is.

It’s like when a football player is the slightest big hesitant because he’s had an injury and no longer has his suicidal-like confidence it taking/giving shots.

We all can agree, it was a pretty stupid comment and regardless if D. Howard was/is black or white his attitude sucks.

White people can’t dance.

Howard will not be traded. What trade would help the Lakers? Howard will become a beast next year after giving more time for his back and shoulder to heal.

Kobe will stay with the Lakers. He will play another three years with them after this contract expires. He will sign for a lot less money to help them sign other players. This will show his commitment to win at all costs, even to a cost of millions of dollars in contract money. But he makes much more money in sponsors when he wins titles.

Mike D’Antoni will be let go this summer. Either Jimmie will eat crow and hire Phil back or they go get Jerry Sloan. Jimmie needs to fix his image now that his dad has passed away. He needs to learn to listen to Mitch more now and let him be the true GM he can be.

The Lakers are proud franchise and they will continue their winning ways. They do not do that by making many stupid moves. But when they do make bad moves, they try to fix them. Trading for Howard was not a stupid move, look at Bynum now and ask who you would rather have.

You have deep rooted issues. Get over it, ignorance isn’t always bliss.

And some websites seem to want to keep writing about it.
