Well, if you really want to know my opinion on each individual transaction we have made I can tell you (I did like the Bogut trade), but the gist of my post was that the Bucks have no direction at all, they keep rotating players in and out, with no endgame to building a championship team.

The Salmons trade worked out very well for us(resigning him not so much). Also, are you saying you wouldn’t have traded Bogut? Bogut had a really good stretch for a while with us but if you look at all the time and money we spent on him, it was time for him to go. Look at what the Warriors are getting from him since they traded for him, they are getting the same we we’re getting from him which is nothing. The real gem in that trade was getting rid of Stephen Jackson’s contract but we also got a good player that plays hard every night. Say what you want about his streaky shot but I’ll take my chances with a guy like Ellis over Bogut anyday.

Unless you think we should go into full blown rebuild mode why not be aggressive to try to make our team better?

I agree. If this all plays out and we get Smith and pair him with Sanders thats two really athletic bigs who can rebound and block shots. Even if we don’t end up re-signing Smith it would be worth it just to see what happens with that lineup this year.

OK, I’m done talking like this is a done deal, I know it’s a long shot.

Only way this happens is if we trade Ellis and others for Josh Smith. I can imagine the Bucks lineup could look very different in a few days. Jennings, Redick, Smith, Ilyasova (if not moved) and Sanders. Not too bad.

The Bucks have no direction. And its painful as a Bucks fan.

A first and probably our best defender for a shooting guard that may or may not resign. Ugh.

Granted if we stay in the playoff hunt the 1st isn’t going to be a quality pick.. it still seems like an overpay when coupled with the “prince of Bia Messe”.

If they pull the trigger on this deal.. they are going to have move Ellis as well.. I just don’t see the Bucks fixing the roster balance with this deal and moving Ellis for ??? .

Maybe they can move Gooden and Dalembert in one of these deals to acquire more depth at the 2 and 3.
