Meyers Leonard is a 7''1 C with a bunch of athleticism and upside. Once he starts to click and get it then you could move JJ back to the bench as the first big off said bench Or they could have LMA just man up with all 6''11 of his self and play C when JJ is on the court with him. Have no clue why they make 6''9 JJ play C when LMA is 6''11, 240.

Exactly. Hickson would be a great back-up PF/C, but someone will pay him to start, and he isn’t worth that kind of money off Portland’s cap space.

They need a true center. Hickson is more of a PF.

yeh okay fair enough but I think to speed up that process they need picks to bring in young talent (even in they are only mid way through the draft and are picking up talent like Oladipo and Goodwin) and looking at that roster Wes is the only tradable asset they have that they would trade. Its not getting one player to turn into Wes, its getting 3 or 4 players like 75% the skill level of Wes, to make the team deeper

Why trade Wes? To get a player that can hopefully develop into…Wes? Wes ain’t gonna get a top 14 pick and he’s probably gonna be better then most coming out of next years draft anyways. Picks and young players to me is sooooooooo overrated in most occasions. Especially when Wes is already good, established and young. They should hold on to their entire starting 5 and Leonard and let them grow together. They could grow into some nice in another year or two, with a nice FA signing and solid drafting.

But yeah, that bench is GAR-BAAAGE.

IDK why POR just doesn’t keep him. He should be part of that core with the way he’s hustled this season. Been very impressed with him and should a be a name in the running for MIP.

They have to start trading away some people to get picks and decent players, perhaps even trade Wes. i know it may seem unpalatable but the Blazers are the opposite of teams like the Rockets. They need a deeper bench and need to start adding some decent players to back them up. Lillard and LaMarcus are stars, but that’s not what they need right now
