What could today’s NBA players beat Michael Jordan at? (VIDEO)

Feb 18, 2013, 1:46 PM EDT

Nobody does NBA humor videos like the guys at The Basketball Jones. And I’m not just saying that because they let me play some pickup ball Sunday with them in Houston, I thought that before they let me float around on the wing and waive my arms trying to get a pass.

They went around a couple NBA media events this weekend with a great question for the players — what could you beat Michael Jordan at?

Matt Bonner wins. Again.

this is an old topic but, does anyone think the best college team of all time (in their opinion) could come in and beat the average NBA team ?

      • raidmagic - Feb 18, 2013 at 3:17 PM

No, every NBA team has 12 NBAers on it’s bench the best college team has maybe 5 the rest are destined for another profession. Talk all the trash you want about the 12th man on any team but he’s still in the NBA.

The Fab Five couldn’t even beat the other best NCAA team those years.

On a given night, maybe the ’82 Tar Heels: Sam Perkins, Matt Doherty, James Worthy, Michael Jordan, Jimmy Black. Even Buzz Peterson and Jim Braddock, who didn’t play much that year, were all-Americans coming out of high school.

    1969 UCLA Bruins:
Kareem, Sidney Wicks, Steve Patterson, Curtis Rowe, John Vallely…If you count Lucius Allen who was suspended that year, and Henry Bibby who was a freshman and didn’t play…

That’s 7 pros on one team.

If Kareem plays 48 minutes/no foul trouble…this roster would have a shot against a number of current NBA teams…in the NBA in 1970 as a rookie, Kareem averaged 29 points and 14 rebounds…
