Not to mention that Curry has played the majority of his minutes at point guard and Paul George has played most of his minutes at small forward (though that will shift somewhat with Granger coming back).

Well, this is what the new luxury tax system is supposed to help with. A guy like Ellis has to give up a lot of dough to go sign with a contender, b/c none of the contenders can afford him as a FA.

The big markets will always attract the very biggest stars, b/c those guys are worth the max contracts. But those fringe all-star players, and young superstars looking for payouts will have to start choosing smaller markets in order to get paid.

That’s exactly why Harden is on the Rockets, Rudy Gay is on the Raptors, Gasol will be on another team next year, etc. And Miami is unlikely to keep all 3 of its stars in 2014.

I really like the new tax system…we’re already seeing some of its effects; I can’t wait to see how the NBA looks in 5 years.

I know a couple people that lived there they both said its really boring. I’m just saying its no big market team Jennings probably wants to play in a big market, and Ellis who knows he’s supposed to be the loyal one.

Amen to that!

The way the NBA is set up is whats killing the game in my opinion. Miami, NY, LA , Boston, Chicago…….those are basically the destination cities for star players. People forget that the Bucks had some damn good teams and owned the Central 6 years in a row in the 80′s. Yes, that was ages ago, but teams were more balanced and quite honestly the game was much more fun to watch.

Now, you have players dicating where they should play?? that’s BS. We all know that 1 of those teams will will the title……..probably Miami. What fun is that? Every few years you may get a hot new team if they’re lucky enough to draft a star player (OC for instance). The Bucks could slip in at 7 or 8 ………but where are they really going ? nowhere. It sucks as a fan.

Couldn’t agree more with you on this although the Knicks won’t be able to offer him much at all. Teams like the Mavs, Hawks, etc with cap room will overpay and if/when they do we can let him walk if it doesn’t make sense. If Ellis opts out and wants a long term deal he would be cheaper and could resign. Either way I don’t think we go ahead with both of these guys anymore. I’d actually like to trade Jennings with all the rumors that he basically hates Milwaukee and try to resign Ellis. Sounds like the Bucks are aiming to do exactly opposite of that though.

I’m not so sure about that. I like that they are playing chicken with Jennings and seeing what offers he may get this summer. If someone wants to heavily overpay him (Knicks), so be it, but I think most league scouting departments know what Jennings’ is worth.

Charlotte would be a bad spot for him. He would want the ball all the time there, due to the lack of stars on that team. He needs to go to a team that already has a go to guy.

There are plenty of teams that need a starting SG.

Sure he is a volume shooter, shooting at an average percentage, but on a team that makes him the #3 go to guy, he might do just fine.
A good team would limit the amount of FGs he takes (to around fit) and make him realize that he sucks at shooting 3s (so take only about 1 a game).

Just like centers, todays NBA seems to lack good SGs.
After Harden, Curry, Mayo, Wade, Bryant, and George, the SG pool is very depressing.

I would trade Ellis if I could he’s a scorer alright about 19 points. Wow big scorer alright like people pls. He is a poor shooting guard. Don’t the bucks have Jennings for a bad shooter.

The Bucks will overpay for Jennings and Ellis will walk with no compensation. There is little to no history that suggests that they will come out ahead in either of the 2 situations.

It sucks being a Bucks fan.

I hope they trade him but I can’t think of too many trades that makes sense for the Bucks. The problem is that trades that would work for the Bucks…. getting a Millsap… won’t work for the Jazz because he wouldn’t resign there. Maybe Dallas for Mayo and Wright?? After getting only bad offers in the offseason OJ Mayo might be more inclined to sign a long term deal at a value and Monta might take a pay cut to be in Dallas is they hit big with a free agent.

Charlotte?? They can trade him there and he will walk in the summer. Free agents don’t usually go to small market teams…. especially scorers. Hopefully teams refusing to go over the luxury tax will change this but it hasn’t so far.

Interesting…. Just so happens that Brooklyn need a decent shooting guard and Ellis is a much better choice than Ben Gordon. That being said, I’ve got a feeling KG will hang up the sneakers at the end of the season and Ellis would look mighty fine in the green
