Again, learn the game. I’m so sick of reading and hearing people tell me how great Rondo is. Most of you people don’t even watch, you just go by his pts and assists, which are completely overrated. Not to mention 13 pts a game for a guy who had the ball 80% of the time is pathetic.
New York, Indy and Chicago are better than Boston? How come Boston has beat all three of them the last three times they played? Boston and Miami are still the best in the conference, End of story.

Good. I really don’t like the Clippers trading Bledsoe and/or Jordan before season end, whenever it would be. Talent certainly matters but so does chemistry. I’d like to see how far this group can go before any major roster change.

The question isn’t whether Ainge would consider breaking up the team.

He’s on record saying he would consider it – heck, he’s on record saying he’d have broken up the Bird/McHale/Parish Big Three.

The question is CAN he. With Garnett’s no trade clause, trading Pierce could force Garnett’s hand – but I still don’t see it happening. It’d have to be a heckuva good deal to spur that

My question is this: why does KG feel the need to publicly come out and announce that he is not going to waive his no trade clause? The only person he needs to tell this to is Danny Ainge. This makes me think that he has been asked to send a message to any other players out there (Dwight Howard) who might be traded to the C’s that if they end up in Boston KG will be there to win with them. Am I crazy, or just delusional?

This is Boston’s fault. Why would you give an aging player a no-trade clause? Why would you give ANY player a no-trade clause? His contract goes for two more years at 11.5 and 12 mill, respectively. If he wants to sit back and collect his money, he can, because Boston management gave him the right to decide when they rebuild. He already has done just about everything, so why should he waive the clause?

When have the Celtics attracted elite free agents like the Lakers have? KG wouldn’t have gone there had not Ray been traded there first. That’s probably why after Bird retired they went over 20 years between titles.

It’s laughable how this site constantly reports on things that will never happen. We won’t trade KG or The Truth, the Celtics are just any organisation, it’s one build on tradition, respect and loyalty. KG and especially The Truth have been loyal to the green time and again and now it’s our turn to repay that loyalty. Both with retire in the green and white, anything else would be tragic. You don’t trade your franchise guys. Regardless of age. There’s no need to try and rebuild right now, the C’s will attract players once KG and The Truth retire because they’re the C’s. Just like the Lakers will attract players without Kobe in a couple of years.

Garnett earned his no trade clause and I don’t fault him for using it, but let’s just be clear about one thing:

If the Celtics deem it in their best interest to trade him, and Garnett refuses, that’s not Garnett being loyal to the Celtics

That’s Garnett being loyal to Garnett.

Again I have no problem with Garnett playing where he wants to, but he can’t call himself “loyal” if he’s preventing his team from getting better.

SMH! Without Rondo, there are at least 3 teams, possibly 4 better than the C’s. Miami, Indiana, New York and Chicago. They might as well break it up, they ain’t getting no younger. C’s have to explore and make a deal for Pierce and Garnett to get younger. I think they will be traded this summer.

Ownership doesn’t want to trade him or Pierce. As much as people try to pretend it doesn’t matter, the owners are looking at playoff gates, and their is no way in hell they are giving that up. Celtics ownership doesn’t own the building, so the extra playoff revenue is HUGE for them. I would be stunned if they made a move. Also, if Rose doesn’t come back, the C’s are the best team besides Miami. Why break it up? Boston tried rebuilding for years. It didn’t work. Trading for 2 guys who are good but not great is pointless. Sorry, you can keep your two dimes and a nickel because Boston wants to hold onto the quarter.
