East and West players introduced at All-Star practice (VIDEO)

HOUSTON — One of the more fan-friendly (and affordable) events to attend during All-Star weekend is the All-Star practice that takes place Saturday morning at the Jam Session inside the Convention Center.

The event takes place inside a make-shift arena that seats maybe a thousand fans total, and those in attendance get an up-close look at all the players making up the rosters of both the East and West All-Star teams.

Practice for an All-Star game may seem a bit silly, and actually, it is. Both coaches are mic’d up so the fans can hear them putting the players through casual warm-up drills and walking them through the simplest of offensive sets.

There was also a half-court shooting session and a game of knockout played, and the players were in good spirits despite the unusually early hour of the morning they had to be awake and engaged.

The video clip above shows the brief player introductions, which took place on a stage at one end of the arena that’s very similar to the one inside the Toyota Center where the weekend’s main events take place.
