I mean, hell, look at their side of the box score and you think, not bad… until you look at the Clippers box score. They are a better team. You cannot expect the Lakers to beat them, and if they had, everything would’ve gone right for the Lakers, and a bit would’ve had to’ve gone wrong for the Clippers.

My take heart comment was more a reference to–and correction of–my opinion from a few weeks ago when I thought they didn’t have a chance in hell to make the playoffs. Now, although they haven’t closed the gap much, they are at least keeping pace.

If they don’t lose heart (and long-term Gasolessness has yet to present itself) it appears they might be the cream of the sub-500 crop. But don’t expect them to beat division leaders.

I think that comment you pointed out was merely stating that after opening the game 15-0 it was pretty much over. The fact the Lakers closed to within 3 with about 2 minutes in the half only to go in the locker room down by 12.

That last statement of “how the Clippers may be dangerous come playoffs” is preposterous. Most people just don’t get how badly rotations were affected with CB out. Paul defers to CB and let’s him bring the ball across as CP prefers to work off the ball before getting it. If you look at the teams with the best home records (with exception of OKC which we lost by CP missing a last second chip shot) the Clippers have beaten them all. Playing at full strength the Clippers have just as much a chance at a ring than any team in the NBA.
