Lets face it, the nba is least competitive league in pro sports. What a joke. I could pick 4 or 5 teams and one of them will win the title. I think the league would be better if downsized to 24 teams. And shrink the playoff pool. What’s the point of being a 7 or 8 seed. Just to say u made the playoff? C’mon man

First, for all the guys mad that Irving isn’t going to start, Holiday should of got Rondo’s spot if they were going to stick with a PG anyway

As far as the decision itself, I think it would of been better to start a guard, but at least he was honest. He basically said “I have a choice, he’s my guy, so he’s starting”. While I might not agree with it, I can respect it

he’s somewhere close, let’s not sound like we don’t know basketball, but the edge definitely goes to rondo because he is a much better definition of point guard than kyrie is at the moment. he has a more active, sort of crazy control in a game which lends itself to rondo’s susceptibility to get triple doubles. doc is highly respected and he has already come out and spoke volumes of rondo’s smarts. however, kyrie irving isn’t too shabby. it took him less time to reach the all star game than it did rondo and this was based off coaches’ decisions. in fact, if there was a fantasy redraft for just point guards, don’t be surprised if some coaches were to take kyrie before rondo

Guess what Einstein? When Rondo got hurt the coach has at his discretion to put whatever player he sees fit in the lineup. That’s what happened. Don’t like it? Then have your team’s coach have the best record at the All-Star break and he can do whatever he wants.

As a Cavs fan, this is f-ing stupid. We vote on a position by position basis for a reason. We don’t vote for overall players, we vote per position. We vote 2 G’s and 3 F/C players. The starting lineup here is G-F-F-F-F? That’s just bending the rules becuase you’re a biased jerk off.

Who cares if that’s what you run in Miami? This isn’t Miami, it’s the freakin all star game.

Kyrie is getting hosed. (I think he’s better than Rondo anywys and should start regardless)

This makes sense for three reasons:

1) Bosh should have gotten the starting nod over KG in the first place, his season has been statistically better: KG has a slight edge in rebounds (7.7 to 7.4) and a small one in assists (2.3 to 1.5), most significantly. Bosh has the edge in blocks, KG in steals. But Bosh has significant edges in points, FG%, FT%, and PER while also playing more minutes

2) If you think team play should be reflected in all-star selection, that speaks for itself.

3) Spoelstra’s loyalty is first and foremost to the Miami Heat. He can’t well call CB “our most important player” and then not start him when it is Spo’s decision alone. Furthermore, of Miami’s big three, Bosh is the player who sacrificed the most in terms of personal stats, recognition, and even respect. The Heat organization knows it has to recognize Bosh’s contributions, at least internally.
