Paul knows he can max out $$$ on LA sponsor and TV/film connections like Shaq did. Paul is much better looking than Shaq and will get paid. Lob City will only get bigger and sell more NBA jerseys and Nike stuff.

Look, if CP3 wants to ignore history and sign with a Donald Sterling-owned club and expect everything to go great the next 5 years, that’s certainly his right.

But anyone who’d paid attention to these sorts of things has got to know, especially in light of the new CBA and it’s harsh penalties for going over the tax, there’s no way Sterling’s spending the money to keep the Clippers in contention.

Sure he’s saying and doing all the right things to get CP3 locked up alongside Griffin, but once the ink is dry and he knows he can sell the team to the public and sponsors on the basis of those two alone, all those nice pieces they’ve stockpiled will quickly start getting dumped in favor of minimum contract type journeymen. Count on it.

Watching the clippers last night only reinforces my belief hes very overrated. Players these days in the NBA are so much concerned about other things there location, there friends , letting players pick who they want on there team to play with. His defense last night was flat out awful on mario freaking chalmers, you would think such a high profile player like him he would be more concerned with getting better and improving his game, but thats not the case its all about him and not committing to the team. Its no wonder hes never made it past the second round.

You’re right – and I’m glad someone else recognizes that the playoffs are very different than the regular season. The game slows down…you play against 1 team for up to 7 games and you get the chance to plan and re-plan for them for each game. But I will say this: watch out for a few West teams and don’t just think that the Thunder will make it back to the finals just because they were there last year and becuase their regular season record is good. The Spurs, Nuggets, Grizzlies, and Clippers are all contenders out West. And I give a very slight chance to the Lakers. I know they have to make the playoffs first, but I think they would be a tough match up once the game slows down to more of a half court game rather than running and gunning up and down the floor.

17 wins in a row? Please. Playoffs is a different beast. You play the top teams and you gotta win 4 games first to move on. Not easy. Thunder will crush them.
