I have seen harder fouls while watching girls basketball. This game is meant to be physical. It was a foul but it wasn’t dirty. He pushed the guy hard, so what? It happens. They don’t call it the power forward position for nothing (Kevin Garnet has built a career around being the most physical player in the league). Tyler is a physical player as every coach in the country teaches their players to be. You battle for the ball. The guy only got hurt because obviously he never learned how to fall and land on the ground properly. If you watch the video he braces his fall with his hands which is a good way to get hurt. Complete over reaction from the same people that are trying to call penalties every time someone hits another player in football.

Miles Plumcantplay and trading the 15th pick for the right to massively overpay George Hill and play him out of position…. yuck.

Laimbeer……… hell even Reggie Evans… he isn’t even close to being as good as those guys. I am a huge Pacers fan but Tyler Hansbrough would be completely worthless if not for the wild amount of foul calls he still gets from the refs. Hansbrough for years has chased around the wrong guy on the defense…. often leaving his guy wide open under the rim for a rebound or basket. Took insane jump shots… he would follow the pg around like it’s a pick up game clapping his hands calling for the ball. That being said the Pacers are physical but not punks……. the Heat series took the turn it did when Wade pushed Collison from behind in Game 2 of that series….. watch the video….. then Granger (not really known for being a tough guy) and the other Pacers got lured into playing a game they weren’t accustomed to.

Even as an opposing fan, though, I can’t say I hate or blame him. Tyler is a reckless, physical player who likes to push things to the edge, and frankly, being chippy and an agitator works for his game. Not only that, he is very crafty about how and when he takes his shot at his target, rarely hurting his team, as was the case this evening.

Believe me, as Heat fan I think he got what he deserved when Haslem took him out in last year’s playoffs. But he’s part of the reason Indiana can be such a formidible team for anybody in the east to contend with come the postseason.
