Completely agree with you, lphboston. Without Rondo dominating the ball they are playing great team basketball. Everyone passing the ball around. It’s great seeing so many people now fill up the box scores with assists and double-digit scorers. It’s great having one of the best point guards in the league, but in recent history what teams have won with one of the best point guards in the league. It would kill me to see them trade him, and I still think they won’t, but if they do I can understand why.

They starting backcourt of Bradley and Lee have been quite the dominating defensive duo.

…but progress2011 is right about one thing — the Celtics are effective when they move the ball and play uptempo, and Rondo does that only when Rondo damn well feels like it. He can go long stretches when he will walk the ball up the court and then get into the offense with under 15 seconds left on the shot clock.

Yes the sample is real small, but in the last few weeks the Celtics have beaten the Heat, Clippers and Lakers by taking advantage of their depth. Coiurtney Lee looks like a different player now that he has the ball in his hands and Garnett is a freak again.

Tell you what — if the Celtics can come anywhere near close to finishing the season strong, Danny Ainge will have some difficult decisions to make this summer about the future of the franchise with/without Rondo.

Depending who you talk with, Rondo is either a top-3 PG (Rose, Paul) or somehting a lot less than that. But the Celtics’ play of late has raised a lot of eyebrows in Boston.

That shout out to Dwight Howard haha. Anyway Rondo should take his time this team has so many question marks who knows what Danny will do to them, one thing is certain this is a wake up call for Rondo. Bob Ryan was right he gets ironically greedy at times with assists he won’t pass to the right guys because they’ll get the assist and things like that. Now he can look and see what he needs to do to win games instead of getting triple doubles every game he will realize stats only matter so much. Win first stats second.

great news hope he comes back asap!! great player but im afraid i like the c’s more without him so as soon as hes back putting up his triple doubles looking like an all star trade him for a scoring big who can defend. help kg out a bit more

Apparently you don’t know anything about Rondo. His jumper is much improved from ears past. But you keep on staying frozen in the past.

Stay home ! The C’s are playing better without him pounding the ball for 20 seconds of the shot clock.

Plus he can take the extra time to work on that BROKE jumper……he needs all the help he can get with that thang !
