Gordon does not have an expiring contract, he makes more than Humphries next year (technically Gordon can opt out of the $13.2 mil, but no way he does). And even if they traded Humphries for an expiring the Nets would be about $2 million over the luxury tax line and could not bid on Howard.

The nets are dumb first for giving him 12 mil a yr. max was 2 yr 18 but if u noticed. They gave Wallace bad contract. Seems like dwilliams is a bad contract.now n joe johnson enough said n Lopez gees they went beyond for him overpaid by 15 mil easy.

Because the Nets needed him to have a high salary for trade ballast. At some point (probably next summer), they would have been well-positioned to use him for a good player on a bad contract. They’ll be even better positioned to do that with Gordon, who lets them take back $1.5 million more than Hump would next summer and provides some value beyond just his expiring contract.

Maybe it was Jay-z’s doing. Prolly wanted to help out Kanye and overpay Kris so Kim K. wouldn’t have to pay alimony since he’d be making as much as her? IDK but SOMETHING is going on, I like Kris game but that contract is SUUUPER unwarranted.

As a Pistons fan, this upsets me a little bit. We had to include a 1st round pick along with Gordon when we traded him to Charlotte. It’s nice to have Maggette’s expiring contract, but I would have rather had Humphries and kept the pick…
