Your 11 out of 13 came at a time that there was no equal opportunity for everyone to join the NBA. How many Magics, Jordans, Kobes, LeBrons, and Durants do you think didn’t make it during that era? The likes of Chamberlain and Russell were exceptions and not regular occurrences.

How come the Celtics or any other NBA team for that matter can’t produce championship teams of the same make up given that there is now equal opportunity for everyone?

Past titles are all well and good, hell the Celtics have 17. It’s just that most logical fans don’t feel the need to trot them out when the going is tough(like being 4games under .500 and in 10th place.)
(Or when a team is 1-8 in its last two season ending playoff series).

Why can’t you just accept that your team stinks? Why must you revert to titles that are going on 3 years old and older? 5 of which were won I’m Minneapolis?

Haward is no franchise centerpiece but a very good complimentary player. If he’s your franchise player you are screwed. Let them go the lottery route. They may be better in the long run.

I felt the same way. Before DH and Nash, I thought the Lakers were doomed to a 1-and-done or maybe exiting in the 2nd round (for the 3rd straight year). With them, I thought they had a chance to contend, but certainly didn’t consider them favorites, even in the Western Conference. I don’t think that is delusional, I think that is accurate.

The only person who I heard say it was a lock was Ron Metta World Artest Peace. And his lucidity is extremely questionable.

do Laker fans know this season is going bad? of course we do. doesn’t mean i stop rooting for my team. the whole delusional talk is ridiculous. Laker fans have a lot to be proud of…a rare bad season does not change that.

soooo…if we were to take what they say to heart and go by that philosophy…that means at the beginning of the (every) season: to have no expectations, not care about prized FA’s coming to the team, disregard what Vegas put great odds of you winning, disregard past (recent) success, etc????who does that? i am a fan. i support my team. i go to these particular Laker sites because i support my team. now…for the guys who come here to troll or whatever…well, i don’t share that paradigm of living…its wasteful.

You can kiss off any chances for the Lakers to make the playoffs now, best thing that could happen now is to lose every game until Dumbtoni is fired and Trash Nash and Steve Flake get traded away for a real good young point guard like Kyrie Irving. Pau should opt for surgery and the long term recovery rather than rush back and chance an even worse injury. So sad that Pau was playing his best this season when he goes down to injury.

This is the karma that that little idiot buss boy has brought down on our beloved Lakers. I’m glad the little idiot buss boy has to suffer the ignominy of such a horrid season but he needs to have his own hubris rubbed in his nose. We can only hope that Daddy Buss wakes up and fires his worthless devil spawn so he can reward his faithful daughter Jeanie with the wedding present of running the Lakers with her new husband Phil Jackson.

I’m sure that Dumbtoni is jumping with glee that he now gets to run his worthless losing small ball garbage. I hope the Celtics wipe the Lakers off the court tonight to begin the run of losses that get Dumbtoni fired. Read the comments to the articles dated at the time of the trades. 95% of the fanbase was saying the title was the lakers.

I dont care when the Celtics did it, it was still done. Bulls of Jordan years are the closest anyone came. It isn’t easy to do in any era, and for you to scoff at the timeframe only shows your envy and bias.

I didn’t place my Celtics in the finals in preseason. I so did not take joy in Paus injury, I took joy in the fact that he’s a laker, and your detestable fanbase deserves any misery heaped upon them.

.Keep dusting off the trophies, you STILL don’t have as many as Boston.

Lakers will always be the Celtics little brothers, always.

As I stated, the smarmy “we deserve greatness”attitude, the putting down of small market teams, it all adds up.

Now D’antoni gets his chance to small ball run and gun. At least Jamison will get a decent run now. I think this injury actually increases the chances of a Gasol trade, not the opposite. He seems to be very injury prone and it may be time to move him on even if it wont be a like for like deal.

Helin proving his worthlessness again. Why should it (drastically) matter if Gasol is out for six weeks when you talk about him being traded? Bogut was done for the season last year (with career in question) when the Warriors gave away Monta Ellis and Udoh to get him. Most who would take Gasol either want him for the playoffs this year, or to have a nice piece to rebuild with for next year. Trading for Pau is still practical on both counts.

If he opts for the surgery, the irrational element among the team’s fans (which is considerable) will be on him, and if the team fails to make the playoffs, the media will blame him. If he opts for so-called rehab, he’s doing himself a disservice, as surgery seems to be inevitable when this kind of injury occurs.
