Thaddeus Young out three weeks with hamstring strain

Feb 5, 2013, 1:25 PM EDT

Philadelphia is going to be without their best big man this season — their second leading scorer and leading rebounder — for about the next three weeks.

Thaddeus Young will be out that long with a strained hamstring suffered Monday night against the Orlando Magic, reports Dei Lynam at CSNPhilly.com.

Thaddeus Young underwent an MRI this morning and it determined he has a grade one left hamstring strain and will be out of the line up approximately three weeks.

Hamstring injuries are a little hard to predict, they heal slowly and are easy to aggravate if you come back a little too quickly. The Sixers need to be patient here.

Except that the Sixers remain three games back of Boston for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. A Boston team that has won four in a row. The Sixers have to find a way to hold it all together without young’s 15 points a game (on 52 percent shooting) and 7.4 rebounds a game.
