Rasheed Wallace may be back after All-Star break but not at 100 percent

Rasheed Wallace has been out since Dec. 15 with a stress fracture in his foot. Of course, the Knicks have listed him as day-to-day that entire time, because they are the Knicks, but this was a long-term injury.

One he should start practicing with the team again after the All-Star break, reports ESPNNewYork.com. Just don’t expect him to be 100 percent, Knicks coach Mike Woodson said.

“I think he’ll be good enough to give us some productive minutes but he’ll never play real big minutes,” the coach said. “That’s the beauty of having he and (Marcus) Camby. You can play him 9, 10 minutes and as long as they’re productive, that helps us.”

Before his injury Wallace was giving the Knicks more than 14 minutes a night and 7.2 points a game. He was shooting just 38.8 percent overall but he gave them a three point threat, rebounds and defense in the paint, and he gave them good minutes. The Knicks miss those minutes and would love to get them back.

At 100 percent or not.
