I can think of a team in Texas that is the perfect learning and playing situation for this guy. And it ain’t the Mavs or Rockets. And their name rhymes with “slurs.”

The kid is an idiot. Period, point blank. Defend him all you want, he has no self control. He needs to grow up. Smart comes over to take the heat off of him because he knows he is close to a tech, (And most mature athletes know to let the coach/manager handle it at that point), this is when that immature fool decides to say something stupid. And the other ref is the one who heard it so he “teched” his dumb immature azz up. He is the poster child for selfishness and immaturity. He has to know by now that he is hurting his team with every rant. He needs to be on a team with a TRUE big man as a leader, so he can mature into the great player he is capable of being.

There are at least a dozen players in the league wh–doing the exact same thing, and reacting to it the exact same way–would not have gotten either technical.

It’s easy for any of us not directly involved in the game on the floor to say, “He needs to control himself.”

Missing a call here and there is one thing, it’s human, but blatantly inconsistent referee-ing and discipline is the single worst thing about the NBA.

This is not at all to say Cousins isnt at fault, even though you can’t tell whats being said he should have taken himself out of that situation. That being said, its pretty interesting that a different ref than the one Cousins was talking to ejected him. Pretty obvious refs have strong feelings about him now and it wont take much (or anything) for them to eject him.

Kurt’s right on this one though. You have to let it go and move on. In this league even the stars get T’d up from time to time. Cousins should have did his high-fives and walked to the locker room.
For those who say he shouldn’t have gotten that second T you need to be exposed to someone who just won’t stop bothering you about something that happened a while ago. Maybe like a 5 year old that keeps asking “why?” every dang time you answer the question, eventually you get sick of it

Does complaining to refs ever help anyone’s case? I don’t think during a game a ref has ever said “you’re right, I was wrong. Now let me change that call.” Keep your head down and play. It’s that simple.

Most of Cousins’ actions are indefensible. I don’t know about what happened tonight. I was watching the game and think Cousins got railroaded. It wasnt exactly clear why he got the first tech because he wasnt in the referee’s face and wasnt being overly demonstrative.

At the halftime buzzer he walked over to the ref and appears to calmly ask him a question. As he was walking away, the other official that was just standing there gave him the gate. That was a bush league move by the refs. Cousins gets into enough trouble by himself. He doesnt need any help from a ref trying to be the next Joey Crawford. The league should rescind at least one of those techs if not both.
