What about star power? Watching Garnett is way better than watching Butler and “Beldsoe”. Boston ticket buyers should demand Denver get involved with McGee. At least they be getting comparable entertainment value.

It doesn’t have to be Jordan. As I have said, a third team might be required to be involved where you can get both Bledsoe and a paint defender from another team.

If I’m the Celtics, I’m rejecting this deal.

Eric Bledsoe is a good trade chip. Very talented, and only getting paid an average of $2.1 million per year this season and next year. *Apparently*, some teams have called the Celtics about acquiring Jason Terry. If the Celtics traded for Bledsoe and traded away Terry, a Rondo-Bradley-Bledsoe-Lee would form a young and athletic backcourt rotation.

However, Butler doesn’t really fit the Celtics’ needs. He’s a natural small forward, and the Celtics have Pierce and Jeff Green as their 2 small forwards, and at power forward, the Celtics have Bass and Sullinger. The Celtics’ primary weakness is depth at *center* behind KG. Trading KG leaves a *massive* void at Center that nobody on the Celtics roster could come close to filling right now, so I’d only go for a trade involving KG if the Celtics were offered a good young Center in return.

Big men, even ones at age 37, are very, very valuable.

I don’t think that the issue here is that Bledsoe PER SE is not needed by the Celtics. I think what is immediately needed by the Celtics is to get back into a force of DEFENSE, especially inside the paint. It was their defense that brought them Banner 17. If they could get another team that would have the Celtics add a player to fill in the defense vacuum KG would leave, then sure, getting Bledsoe AND a Defense Minister would definitely be a good trade.

This deal makes no sense. Guard is the one position where the C’s are set for the future (Rondo and Bradley). As nice as Bledsoe is, I wouldn’t do it if I’m Danny.

Celtics should do this. I LOVE KG, but long term.. Bledsoe is the man. Whoever said Celtics have no need for Bledsoe when Rondo is healthy is just wrong. Every team could use a Bledsoe.

I’d like to think the C’s could get an inside presence simply by flipping Bledsoe and Butler once again. That being said I’d never do this if I’m the Clip. And forget the idea on them trading Jordan to get KG.

I am and have been a clipper fan for about 5 years now and I’ve been watching the NBA, with a lot of interest for only 7 or so years, in saying that I’ve seen Garnet play and his attitude to the fans and rather not see him as a Clipper. He’s just such an ass, its hard to root for him most of the time

They should only do it if they can get Deandre Jordan, they have no need for Butler and wont have a need for Bledsoe when Rondo gets healthy.
