Report: Teams calling Celtics to see if Terry is available

Now with Jared Sullinger joining Rajon Rondo on the “done for the season” list, the vultures are circling. Other GMs are looking at the Celtics and want to try and pick the carcass clean.

We’ve talked about teams inquiring about Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, but then Ken Berger of CBSSports.com dropped this nugget on twitter:

Jason Terry just signed with Boston this summer but at a reasonable mid-level exception deal — he has two-years at $10.4 million total left the two seasons after this.

Terry has struggled to find a comfort level in Boston, both in terms of his role and just his general play on the court — he is averaging 10 points a game (down from 15 last season) and has a PER of 11.9, the lowest of his career.

But GM Danny Ainge isn’t just giving him away to the fifth caller like a pair of Killers tickets. Ainge will listen to anything, but he wants some value back in return. And right now with the vultures circling, the offers the Celtics are getting are lowball ones.

If I am Danny Ainge I walk into the Celtics locker room after the game with a “He-Man” action figure in-hand. Anyone on the roster who is old enough to know who the hell he is officially on the trading block!

He would be a nice addition for the Bulls….shame that they don’t have any assets that would drain interest from the C’s

The Bulls do have assets that would draw interest from the C’s.

Unfortunately, those assets are guys like Jimmy Butler that the Chicago Bulls would be stupid to trade away for a 2-guard on the decline.

EVERYONE on that roster is on the block ! Who’s kidding who here ?? Red’s ghost is telling Danny to pull the trigger, and that includes their D-League team

Highly doubt this would happen, I believe his game is about to pick up.

There is no Keven McHale to bail out Ainge this time. He’s have to really work some magic to turn around that team. Age, injuries, defections, bad moves and just bad luck have hurt the Celtics and they maybe wondering in the NBA wilderness for a long time before we see any turn around.

@henry McHale bail out Ainge? People always seem to forget that Boston gave them AL JEFFERSON in that deal. Ya know? The Al Jefferson who, at the time, looked like a younger and better player with a TON of potential. If they gave out awards for NOT knowing a dang thing about basketball, you’d take it easy.

we need jets scoring now more than ever. i think he will hot up now rondo isnt hoggin the ball! leave the guards alone danny we just need to pick up fa big to help bb and kg now sully is out which is a bigger loss than rondo. we gotta keep this squad together for next year as i believe the bench will benefit from all the injuries and nxt year with rondo back and sully back pain free he will be a beast, that will be the year for 18th title. patience is virtue danny good things come to those that wait. go c’s
