Pierce’s best days may be behind him, but the man still has game. He’s dropped A triple double and 2 double doubles in the last 3 games, one of those double doubles was only a couple assists off being another triple double. Say what you want, but pierce will forever be the man and forever a man in green. #CELTICPRIDE

I love Calderon, but I gave you a thumbs down because you’re saying they should find a point guard, implying that they should be playing for this year. I think the celtics should trade pierce to be better next year and the year after that, when they are at full strength with Rondo. If they don’t play for the future they are risking being stuck in the middle.

Plus, I don’t think pistons like that trade. Calderon is a valuable expiring contract and younger than pierce. He can be a part of their future or he can be traded for value that won’t be as old as pierce.

man people must really dislike Calderon. I’m not saying trade Pierce for Calderon, just saying find a point guard to replace the point guard that is injured.

shouldn’t he be spending time trying to work out a three team trade to get Calderon to Boston. It’s not like Det is going to resign him.

Paul Pierce is still a really good player but he has more value to other teams than the Celtics now. Celtics should trade him for whatever value they can get, because they are not going any where this year. They are a young team and they have some pieces in place to make another run with Rondo and Garnett, but they need to bring back something for paul now. It also helps them to just get in the lottery. If they can get a draft pick or two, or a big man, they need to deal Pierce, as much as that hurts.

Danny, if you do trade Pierce, please don’t go the Red Sox route. Praise him all the way, don’t trash him.

I’m not a fan of the Celtics or of Pierce, but IMO he should remain a Celtic. I’ve seen too many guys in the “wrong” uniforms at the end of their careers.

what can he possibly get for Pierce from a contender, a pick or two.
I can’t see him getting anything like a starter from a contender.
They will have to ride it out.

The real reason why Ainge won’t trade Pierce is because he would not get anything close to equal value. The same with Garnett. It’s not like anyone will challenge Boston for the #8 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, so let it ride…

Paul Pierce has more sentimental value than anything else. His better days are behind him, I cant see anyone offering alot to get him, espically if they are not one of the handful of teams who can make it to the finals.

agree Kurt. would hate to see Pierce in another uniform. there is just something cool seeing a player stick with one team his entire career. its a rare sight..like seeing a Pinta Island Tortoise. playing for 1 team only, can certainly add to the legacy.

that said….this is a business and no one player is bigger than the franchise. no one. if Ainge got a hypothetical crazy offer of say…lamarcus alridge, damian lilliard, and nick batum…for PP and some picks? then heck yeah!
