Here is our regular look around the NBA — links to stories worth reading and notes to check out (stuff that did not get its own post here at PBT) — done in bullet point form. Because bloggers love bullet points.

• If you read one thing this week, it should be Matt Moore at CBS’s Eye on Basketball talking defense with Andre Iguodala, one of the game’s best perimeter defenders. Sure, Iguodala is long-armed, athletic and has the physical characteristics needed to be a great defender, but read this and you see how much of what he does is mental. It’s about preparation before the game then awareness in it. Fantastic read. Especially be sure to watch the video narrations.

• A fun look at how seven first-time NBA All-Stars got there.

• The Spaniards have each other’s backs — Ricky Rubio comes to the defense of Pau Gasol.

• A lot of Knicks players get around in mini-vans.

• Another great read: Chuck Klosterman talking with Royce White for Grantland.

• Hall of Famer Robert Parish says he wants to get into coaching but can’t get a foot in the door. Or a phone call returned.

• A lot of talk about if the Lakers can still make the playoffs, but what about the Mavericks?

Michael Beasley does not eat healthy pregame meals. If this surprises you then you have not been paying attention.

• The Kings Isaiah Thomas on how he stays in the NBA at 5’9″ (if that) — he’s paranoid.

Kevin Love is getting the NBA KIA Community-Assist Award for his work in the community.

• And we leave you with one Tayshaun Prince fan learning about his boy getting traded then taking off his Pistons 22 jersey:

You lost to this guy Lakers… Wow.

Hes one of those guys on your team that smoked, drank, ate terribly, did every possible thing athletes are discouraged to do, yet still dominated. And you, as you worked for everything, would think “It will catch up to him eventually” and it usually did, those players would fizzle out hard in college. But Beasley is that guy who somehow managed to collect a good $50mil+ before his habits caught up. I bet he could really care less about the sport.

Is that the same Matt Moore that used to write for PBT?

That was an awesome article, its really interesting hearing Igoudala being so candid about his game.
