Matt Barnes ejected for flagrant-two foul on Greg Stiemsma (VIDEO)

Jan 30, 2013, 10:09 PM EDT

Matt Barnes was ejected in the second quarter of Wednesday night’s game between the Clippers and the Timberwolves, after violently grabbing the neck of Greg Stiemsma.

Barnes apparently didn’t like the screen Stiemsma set, and initially shoved him while trying to fight through, before delivering the far more violent shot the second time around.

It was the second ejection of the season for Barnes, and no one would be surprised if his team was without him for its next game or two. A suspension from the league seems more than likely to be handed down following this ridiculous act.

Not much later, Stiemsma picked up a Flagrant 1 foul for a vicious shove of Grant Hill going for an offensive rebound, a play that sent Hill to the floor hard.

Did something happen earlier between the two? Looked like Barnes was going for the choke hold.

Officiating in the NBA just continues to get worse. The “stars” get all the calls. Having said that, Blake Griffin is a no talent bum that can only dunk!

Didn’lt realize Stiemsma was a “star”

      • eventhorizon04 - Jan 31, 2013 at 3:45 AM

LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Greg Steimsa – all those guys get all the Super-star calls!

he wasnt even talking about steisma, he just wanted to complain about Griffin.

I would like to take a quick moment to point out how absolutely moronic your comment is.

“I’m so upset at a player that has the athletic ability, determination and smarts to not just settle for a low % shot, but contineously make THE HIGHEST % SHOT IN EXISTENCE, the dunk! That no talent hack!”

If you have his ability, size, strength and will, you should shoot jumpers, right? You know, since it worked so well for Lebron to get as close to the basket as possible, before shooting, therefore, increasing the odds it goes in; that obviously didn’t work at all, right?

Shaq and Wilt, they should have taken more jumpers, just to apease the guy on the net, instead of using their size and ability to take a higher % shot?

I’m from OKC and am madly in love with KD. However, until the Thunder can find away to shoot higher percentage shots(closer to the rim. You know, oh, like a dunk, maybe?) I’m not banking on a championship while the best player in the game(Lebron) makes his new living in the lane, which is what Griffin does. You need as many easy points as you can get to win in the NBA, and nothing is an easier 2 points than jamming it in there.

      Logic, fella!

I support your drug use bk.. In the mean time, feel free to.. ya know.. WATCH a Clippers game. Blake has a low post game and outside shot is improving. You’re just like the “lol Rondo has no jumper” posters. Catch up on the league whenever you’re ready.

If by only dunking, Blake gives you 18-26 every game guaranteed, who the hell cares?

    • eventhorizon04 - Jan 31, 2013 at 3:46 AM

Dunking is actually the most effective shot in basketball – very high conversion rate (80+%).

And anyways – Griffin does more than just dunk. His offensive game this season is much improved.

I would have loved to see Barnes try that move on Pekovic!! Big Pek would have added another skull to his arm tattoo after smashing Barnes into the hardwood.

    • dannymac17 - Jan 31, 2013 at 12:42 AM

      Still lost the game though.

    • nbascreed - Jan 31, 2013 at 5:59 AM

I’m pretty sure that Barnes isn’t as scared of Pek as you clearly are.

Wow. He’s as dirty as he is ugly.

  6. acdc363 - Jan 31, 2013 at 8:20 AM

It was only a matter of time till Barnes was back to his diva dirty ways.

  7. nech0401 - Jan 31, 2013 at 8:23 AM

Barnes is a solid bench player but he makes it hard to root for him when he’s always trying to win the “dick of the year award”.

In other news: Hockey Refs circle around like ballerinas, and allow players to fight for over a minute. Afterwards, they sit in timeout. Ironically, these players are not considered violent, thugs, divas or anything else. Thats is All.

What griffin doesnt know yet, but will find out in april, is that his low post moves will get disrupted by the double….westbrook or tony parker cant wait to pick his pocket when its win or go home time…

    • dannymac17 - Jan 31, 2013 at 11:14 AM

you guys love hate blake griffin huh?

i can almost guarantee you wouldnt be saying any of this if he were on your favorite teams.

      • BigBeachBall - Jan 31, 2013 at 11:30 AM

        he’s a dunker and a scrappy rebounder… bout it…

      • dannymac17 - Jan 31, 2013 at 12:37 PM
