The Raptors need to keep Lowry and dump Jose. As much as I love Jose, the biggest issues the Raptors have are:
- lack of athletiscm on the defensive end
- lack of playmaking
- lack of top-tier talent
And the most important - lack of a penetrator. There is no one on this team who can penetrate a defense and make something happen, save maybe for Allan Andersen.
Jose is a tremendous set-caller, but he has no ability to break his man down. He cannot drive to the basket either. And he can be taken advantage of on the defensive end. Lowry addresses all of those above needs. Sure, he hasn't been playing well coming of the bench after injury, but he's the guy for the future.

Keep Lowry, Valuncianus and Derozan (unless you can trade Derozan straight up for Rudy Gay). Everyone else is expendable. Amir Johnson and Ed Davis are tremendous workers, but they simply are not talented enough to be considered legitimate starters on a playoff team.
The Raptors need some offensive firepower.
Running carefully developed offensive sets would have worked 40 years ago, but in todays NBA you need guys who can break down a defense on their own.
