Living in Houston and a Rocket fan I know that Royce White was fine until he was sent to the D-league, he played in the summer league and the Rockets gave him a lot that no other player received such as the travel stipulations. He did not come up with these stipulations when he was drafted only when he was sent to the D-league he began to use his disorder. Also the Rockets suspended him a few weeks ago which means he stopped getting paid which is now why he is willing to work something out. I am not buying this guys excuses.

He refused assignment to another position within the company for which his disability would not be an issue. IN THE REAL WORLD HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED. No grounds for legal action.

the whole point of this mess is bothe and the rockets knew of his condition before they drafted. the rockets did everything could to help him but he decided it was not good enough and made outrageous demands while playing the I have a disease card. now after of all of this watch him play the it is because of my condition if he does not produce for them.

This is really an unfortunate situation. I believe White wants to play for the Rockets, but he can’t. I don’t see this ever working for the player or the team and that’s unfortunate. Royce White will fade into oblivion. Very sad.

In the real world he wouldn’t be fired…. if had a disability and couldn’t perform the duties of the job there would have to an agreement reach for his resignation or they would have to find something for him within the company. you can’t just fire a guy cause he has a disability. they would get sued immediately.

it is settled until they inform that yes he does in fact have to wear a uniform and practice before playing in a game. he will be on twitter 5 min. later crying about this injustice and how mean the rockets are expecting to do anything due to his condition. instead of raising awareness and helping people with this condition he has made himself look so much like a joke that people with the condition want nothing to do with this whiny little bitch.

@shanelsweet I agree with you but Royce could have and should have went about it in a different way. So could have Houston but I guess in the long run all that matters is that it’s settled and the young man has a chance to prove himself.

So sad when an employee has to force an employer to do something that doesn’t harm anyone. I’m glad Royce stuck it out. He’s a hero to the rest of us disabled folks. The folks on here who are heckling him should be ashamed of themselves for making fun.
