Which is it? He has no way of knowing, or most do it so its no big deal if even if Boston is doing it? The second statement does not follow the first in a logical argument, so your conclusion is silly.

What’s more, one can indeed know and “most…do it” is the first excuse of cheaters and their enablers.

I would know because I’ve worked in sound and can spot artificial sound apart from genuine noise. The reverb was clear.

are you serious? you do know that those “meters” on the jumbotron are not real, right? They don’t actually move according to the sound levels, its a gimmick computer graphic used to make you think its real. I’ve been to many games in Philly, NJ, Florida, and Colorado and first off, everybody uses the exact same graphic. Second, some teams are dumb enough to use it when they’re team is getting blown out and the arena is quiet, yet the meter is magically going up while the sound level stays stagnant. Its totally laughable that you actually thought there’s a decibel meter somewhere in the stadium linked up to the jumbotron.

Paul Pierce dunked the ball during the 2nd, then Marv Albert mentioned or made the accusation of the Celtcs pumping artificial noise. After Pierce dunked the ball, then the crowd noise esculated. If you ever been to sports arena or TD Garden, there’s a noise meter on the jumbotron. The noise meter reads, “get loud”. It happens every where, MSG, TD Garden, any where.

The only way Marv’s claims can be proven if there’s footage of a motionless crowd and u hear noise. I do find it strange that the Celtics organization responded to Marv’s claims. If they know it’s not true there’s no need to respond to false claims. Boston fans are notorious for being loud and rowdy don’t see why they need motivation?

The WWE does this and if you’ve ever been to a live show it’s very much noticeable.

The Nets used to do this in New Jersey. Marv calls Nets home games. He would know.

It’s real, and not everyone does it.

You could hear the reverb on the TNT mics on the basket stanchion when Paul Pierce dunked in the 3rd (or was it early in the 4th) not long after Marv mentioned this. That was a dead giveaway that it was artificial noise.

Didn’t work anyway.

Nice article, Brett. Your work is really thorough as you obviously mention the fact that Celtics also said (via twitter) that this is not true at all and people who’re responsible for these things in Garden was furious after Albert’s comments and they denied his allegations too. But hey – do whatever it takes to get more pageviews, eh?
