Reggie williams didn’t take his meds and paid the price. so did Hank Gather. This is nothing to screw with. Am surpised that the team doctor let him back so son. There should be a league rule that an independent doctor be brought in for a second opinion on heart matters.

it’s crazy how we can’t fully control, nor perfectly project all the things that the human body can go through. irregular heartbeats? blood clots? mental health? during athletes’ playing days, guys that find ways not to miss games have to count themselves lucky. no one should take their good health for granted. some guys aren’t as fortunate.

@ dexterismyhero……senseless and no brains @ you. O’Neal entered the league as a teen in 1996. He is 6′ 11″ tall and weighs around 260 pounds. He has been playing with grown experienced men in the paint since he was 18. Sixteen years! 16 years!! So Name one other than Tim Duncan who has been able to last? Greg Oden. Sam Bowie. Andrew Bynum, Brandon Roy and he is a guard. The legs go. The body is aging naturally, this sport beats it up in a hurry.

It is a game of running, cutting and jumping on a hard surface. The shoulders are issues from other bigs landing on them and then the wrist and hands from all the beating from everyone on the court attempting to steal the ball or block your shot. Not to mention the falls, twisted ankles, pulled muscles and other illnesses and just getting older.

You do the same things athletically that you did twenty years later and then we can talk….you will not be so fast to call anyone lazy or without guts. It is one thing to be willing. It is quite another to be able.
