well…agree for the most part…BUT…”the Lakers being mediocre for awhile” statement is questionable. come on, man, you know the Lakers do whatever to stay relevant. just like the Yankees, etc… yeah, they may need to regroup and that might take a season or 2…but there is no abyss.

Where did you see that rumor? Minnesota wouldn’t give up Love for Lopez because they already have Pek who is better than Lopez. Also you do realize Lowry is only 26 and Nash is 38? Unless you live in Laker Land any body realizes giving up a 26 year and multiple picks for a past his prime 38 year old is one of the worst moves ever. And if Toronto did end up doing that then they would deserve to be contracted or moved to Seattle.

There are already rumors of a 3 team trade sending Howard to Brooklyn, Lopez to Minnesota and Love to LA. I know Pau cannot play center so Pau and Kevin Love will not work. My trade works out better for LA especially since Howard makes more money than Lopez and Marshon Brooks just like Pau makes more money than Love so those teams will have to give up additional compensation, preferably picks and not bad contracts of bad players. Nash to the Raptors for Lowery and multiple picks is very realistic. It is more realistic than you think. It might become a reality at the trade deadline.

dalucks: I hope that was just you being sarcastic. No way the Twolves give up a 24 year old love AND multiple picks for a 32year old Gasol. Likewise with Toronto giving up Lowry ANDpicks for a decrepit Nash.

The Lakers should admit trading for Dwight Howard was a mistake and trade him now. This situation between Kobe and Dwight will only get worse before it gets better. Kinda like the Lakers season.
I would trade Dwight to Brooklyn for Brook Lopez and send Pau to Minnesota for Kevin Love plus both teams needs to add in multiple 1st round draft picks. Also, I would also send Steve Nash to Toronto for Kyle Lowery and a few 1st round draft picks.
The Lakers need to be realistic and proactive. At 17-24 being in 12th place in the West pretty much means this season is over. Being a .500 team in the West will not get you into the playoffs like the East. The Lakers need 50 total wins and alot of luck to make the playoffs.
The fanbase will not celebrate an 8th seed in the playoffs when they have expected a championship all season.
This would fix the Lakers and make them better sooner instead of waiting until the offseason wondering what happened.
Unfortunately, Jim Buss nor Mitch Kupchak have my basketball IQ. They are more like the blind leading the blind.
