Anthony Davis leaves game with ankle injury

Anthony Davis had 11 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots in just 15 minutes of first-half action in the Hornets win over the Kings on Monday, but was forced to miss the second half after suffering an ankle injury, according to the Associated Press.

There didn’t appear to be a particular play that caused the injury, and Davis was on the floor to finish the half.

The reason for his absence the second half may have simply been the team’s decision to be overly-cautious, especially considering the fact that the Hornets had put up 64 points in the first two quarters and were up by 25 at the intermission.

Davis missed 11 games earlier in the year with a stress fracture in the ankle, and is averaging 13.2 points and eight rebounds per game on the season. He said afterward that he didn’t believe it to be serious, and that he thinks he’ll be ready to go for his team’s next game in San Antonio on Wednesday.
