I hope this becomes more than a 10-day contract. Pat Riley seems to be sitting on his two roster spots to see if anybody gets cut; just like he did last two seasons with Turiaf & Bibby.

At this point the Heat should probably concede that the small ball lineups are a part time advantage. Get Joel Anthony a few more minutes and definitely give Birdman 10-15 off the bench. I’m excited to see him play again.

Not a lot of risk for Miami to take a look here. While the Heat showed that they can counter size with pressure defense, quick rotations, and ball denials against the Lakers the other night, they also picked up a lot of fouls when the ball did reach the low post. Those were good fouls for the most part, but it puts the Heat in a position where they may want another big as an option for spot minutes, and they’d really rather not have that big be Josh Harrellson or Dexter Pittman.
