first off, i said congrats. also, nothing i said about kobe is to take any credit away from lebron.

my post was to bring light to why lebron reached it quicker than kobe. that was all.

not once did i bash lebron. nothing i said was false either.

if that makes me a “kobe homer” i don’t know what to say. yes, lebron lived up to the hype. but he was given that hype because he was expected to perform from day one. kobe was not that dude. true or false?

kobe DID have to make his name in the league. it is rare nowadays that we don’t see a superstar coming. if anyone knew kobe would be a franchise player i think he’d at least be in the top 10 of his draft.

how in the world did i make it seem like it was lebron’s fault that he was given the platform from day one? i was just making a case a to why lebron reached 20k faster than bryant. period. nothing more nothing less. no hate no where.

did i say he didnt work hard? no. my whole idea was that, lebron was given a headstart to be the man. that is all. kobe had to wait his time. he had to prove himself to vets on his team. lebron was the truth as a rookie. the vets had to take a backseat to him.

lebron is very very good (duh), but i say that to show i have nothing against him. and if my post came out the wrong way, sorry for the confusion, i give him all the props he deserves.

i just ask yall to see my post for purely what is was, a case as to why lebron got to 20k faster, nothin mor, nothin less, no hate, no homer’ing.

@money2long, those are great points. kobe did have some hype…but not nearly at lebron’s level. and you nailed it about kobe’s “jerry rice-esque” work ethic. i’d say it paid off.

Doesn’t it make more pressure if you’re expected to be good? Kobe never experienced the burden that lebron had. He was given the burden to carry a so so team. Do you think he doesn’t worked hard for it?

If almost all of the people are expecting you to be great, you will feel more pressure.

It’s not his fault, but it doesn’t mean that he didn’t worked hard to be the player he is now. You’re just a kobe homer that wouldn’t like kobe to be ignored. You kobe fans just want to hear praises about kobe. We’ll he’s not the only good player on this world. I’m an LBJ fan but I’m still amazed with kobe’s talent.

Just give credit where the credit is due.

kobe is a self made superstar. he wasn’t expected to be this great. kobe has put in so much hard work , he made himself a franchise player. kobe even when he gave himself a name, wasn’t even the man on his team. he was second on the food chain, a burden lebron has never experienced. even in miami, he is still option number one. toning down attempts regardless, lebron is still option number one. when kobe was entering his prime is when the lakers finally gave kobe his stage, and i believe he averaged 35 a night.

kobe wasn’t expected to become the mamba, however lebron was called king in high school, given the keys to the franchise from day one, and had all the tools to dominate. kobe had to make himself a star.

i’m not surprised lebron reached 20k faster than kobe at all.
