Kobe is at least one "level" behind Lebron and KD right now. If you had any momentum in this comment it was completely lost when you wrote "Lebron hasn’t really worked on his game he plays off his brute strength and athletics… he doesn’t really have a smooth basketball game". If you don't think Lebron's game is smooth you haven't watched him play. Also, do you not account for passing as an offensive strength?

I won't even start for how hypocritical your comment is on FG% for Lebron vs. Kobe while you started out your comment saying Wilt is the best ever. So you discredit making baskets at the rim for Lebron but when Wilt was constantly making layups and dunks he is the best ever?

Wow.

i don't care how many titles Jordan won he is not better than Wilt. Its sad when they talk about greatest players ever add in centers i know its easier for 5s to dominate but Wilt was a monster... stop with the Lebron is better than Kobe. and using FG% is stupid. Lebron Gerg to the basket more and takes shots closer to the basket hence the reason his FG% is better. Lebron is better now but by a small %. Kobe in his prime was MJ of his time. Lebron and KD are the best players in the league but Kobe isn't that far behind and this is at 34. Lebron hasn't really worked on his game he plays off his brute strength and athletics... he doesn't really have a smooth basketball game. he doesn't have alot of basketball skill moves like sweeps and triple threat moves. he just beats you with strength and athletics. doesn't mean he isn't great but when 32 hits if he dont get a consistent jumper he won't be doing all those acrobatics.... still he is great just not better than Kobe in his prime

This is where people disagree. If you believe plotting for years with two of the other best players in the NBA to team up to try to win rings is taking the easy way out then yes, Lebron took the easy way out. If you don't think Bosh, Wade and James plotted to team up then you probably don't believe Lebron took the easy way out.

I agree with this. Lebron and Wade shouldn't complain about the pressure they had for the first season or two in Miami. They brought all of that on themselves. They were completely arrogant and it took Lebron getting severely humbled against the Mavs in the finals their first season to get on track. Wade apparently hasn't been humbled at all, he is getting more and more arrogant.

I couldn't disagree with you more on this. Their games are completely different. Lebron is on a whole different level when it comes to making his teammates better. Kobe won a ring at a young age which is impressive but Shaq was the best player on that team. I'm not one of the people that think Kobe was "just along for the ride" because he played a HUGE part in that but the fact of the matter is he wasn't even the best player on his team for his first 3 rings. Kobe is a much better perimeter shooter, I don't think anyone would disagree with you there but Lebron is a much more efficient scorer. Say what you want but I'll take dunks and fantastic finishes at the rim all day over lower percentage perimeter shots. Except for his rookie season, Lebron has finished every season with a higher FG% than Kobe's career best season FG% season. He scores almost as many points as Kobe while being a pass first guy.

Lebron James has been the best player in the league since his second season.
The versatility in his game has been unmatched since Magic and magic doesn't play the type of D that Lebron plays.
I have heard coaches say that Lebron is the best perimeter defender they have ever seen. He can guard the 1 thru 5.
Think of the series with Chicago a few years ago when he completely shut Drose down. The other night when they played Utah down 21 going into the 4th, they were getting killed in the paint. It wasn't until Lebron started guarding the center and shut him down, that they were able to cut the lead to 2. Kobe is not even in the same conversation and anybody who believes that doesn't know anything about basketball.
If you ask all 30 nba teams if they had a choice of Kobe or Lebron in their primes 100% of them would choose Lebron.

it proves how versatile LeBron is. and when he started guarding rondo is when the series changed and we know the outcome. how often is Kobe asked to guard the hot hand no matter what position and be the offense catalyst?

the Lakers have won alot of games Bcus of Kobe but he has cost them alot too. I've seen him shot his team out of games. LeBron not so much. now LeBron is starting to get that killer instinct, he is far from done winning championships

Right now, in 2013, Lebron is better overall player than Kobe is. But not by a that big of a margin and Lebron hasn't reached Kobe's prime level yet and I doubt that he will ever and here's way:

It took Lebron 2 finals failures and almoust 10 years to actually develop he's post game, wich still needs a lot of work. He just does not put in as much work in raising he's skill as he should. James is a physical phenomen and he's relying on that too much. You all remember that after Kobe won he's first title, he spent all summer on perfecting he's game. Thats afeter he won it all at very young age, he just has diferent drive than Lebron does.

There are too many stat sheet readers and to few fans who watch games outside higlights on youtube, otherwise we would never ever had a discusion about who's better perimeter shooter. Theres one question we have to rembember: "Why Jordan is BOAT and not Wilt Chamerlain?" I mean Wilt had way better averages than Jordan did, but it's obvious who was better player. Same thing here.
And btw, about defence - Lebron has raised his play on D, but in he's prime, Kobe still was better.

So he attempted to guard Rondo, and failed, and that proves he is a better player than Kobe, when you even admit that Kobe was never asked to do those things?

Uhhmmm.. OK. They are two different players who are both undoubtedly great, but they play two different positions and have very different games. Kobe is a better scorer, Lebron a much better passer, as just one example. Who they guarded one time in a game doesn't really prove anything.

Bruce Bowen was a better defender than either. Is he better than both now?!?

One was in the stacked West. One was in the wack east. For god's sake, the Raptors were the 3 seed and a pre Lebron heat were the 4. In the West? The Spurs were the 3, and the D Williams led Jazz the 4. The 8 seeded Warriors were probably a 3 in the East

I'm far from a Kobe fan, but that is just a terrible example. By that logic, AI is better than both of them. He was the only all-star calibur player on his team for years, and won plenty of series over the years

LeBron is a better all around player than Kobe every was. against the Celtics guarded 4 different positions, kg, rondo, Paul pierce, and Ray Allen. all in one game Kobe never had to and couldn't if he was required to.

kd is a better scorer but doesn't control a game like LeBron and isn't close to as good as a defender.

Indeed, LeBron was specifically comparing Miami's 2010 with the Lakers 2012.

From my end, that was the most nationally scrutinized and criticized season I've ever witnessed in any professional sport, at least in the USA.

Hahahahahahaha

Post game is non-existent? Guess you missed the playoffs this past season. And all of this season.

Shot is still horrid? He's shooting 54.6% from the field this season. 40.7% from 3.

Kobe's CAREER HIGHS in those categories? 47.8% from the field and 37.5% from 3.

In fact, LeBron has only shot below 47% ONCE in his entire career, and that was his rookie year.

On the other hand, this is the ONLY time Kobe has ever shot above 47% from the field.

(Oh, plus LeBron's a better rebounder, passer, and defender. He's simply better at basketball than Kobe is)
