While I am not sure whether or not the Kings will remain in Sacramento I do know that most of the efforts made by the fans in this town are nothing more than “window dressing.” Neither the Maloofs, the Hanson group, nor the NBA really cares about a bunch of pledges which will likely never be realized. Just look at the attendance figures for this season.

I dare say the announced attendance is substantially larger than the turnstile count. In reality, the fans of Sacramento are disgusted by this soap opera and the only way this will be cured is a new, very well heeled ownership group and a gift to the team in the form of a free arena, at the expense of the taxpayers.

So bye bye Sacramento Kings, America’s most well traveled team, may your new life as the Seattle Supersonics v. 2.0 be kind to you.

Actually, ex-NBAer Dave Bing is the mayor of Detroit . . . So KJ is just one of two. That being said, as mayor of Sacramento he really wields no more power than any other councilman. the real power lies with the city manager.
