With a month to go until the trade deadline, we are at the “feeling out” phase of the trade deadline — teams are calling around, talking, seeing who might be available and what the costs will be.

In this week’s PBT Extra Kay Adams and I talk about the prospects of moving some of the biggest names mentioned on the trade block — Pau Gasol, Rudy Gay, Eric Bledsoe, Andrea Bargnani and Jose Calderon. Of that group, I think Calderon is the most likely to be moved, Bledsoe the least.

Of course, the most stunning trades every year are the ones we don’t see coming, but these are the big names we hear about now.

Gasol for Gay. . . For Memphis, pair the Gasol brothers together. For L.A., they get more athletic what they so desperately need.

Obviously there would need to be more players involved to make the contacts work and more importantly L.A. sweetening the deal.

With that said, don’t think it’s the best deal for Memphis, but as an L.A. fan. . .

Sadly, Unfortunately, true. Pau peaked when the Lakers beat Boston in game 7. Has been softer and more distracted ever since. When Phil Jackson pounded on his chest when the lost in the 2nd round against Dallas, it was officially over. Pau helped them to 2 championships, and for that I am grateful. But he is WAY overpaid now, and declining rapidly.

Cmon Kurt, when it comes to lakers fans, you know you aren’t dealing with realistic people.

    Dear Grizz,

Sorry we robbed for Pau 5 years ago. We feel really bad and want to afford you the opportunity to have him back (now that he’s washed up and we got our 2 rings).

    The Lakers

    4 team trade:
    each team aquires:
Golden State- Varejoa, Tony Morrow, CJ Miles

Atlanta- Klay Thompson, Luke Walton, Omri Casspi, Jon Leuer

Memphis- Lou Williams, Kyle Korver, Danny Gibson, Festus Ezeli

Cleveland- Rudy Gay, Johan Petro, H Haddadi, C. Jenkins, A Biedrins

Golden State gets to try and win now and gets rid of Biedrins salary…

Atlanta is trading 3 shooting guards for 1…Klay Thompson can be their starter…and Atlanta is cutting salary in the deal.

Memphis gets to cut its long term salary commitments; gets a guy to come off the bench and score for them; and possily a starting shooting guard (Gasol, Z-Bo, Tony Allen, Korver/Gibson, Conley)…Korver and Gibson are 10 million in expiring salaries this year…

Cleveland gets Rudy Gay…a second young star to pair with Kyrie Irving…

Are you guys crazy! I am a Grizzly fan and no way do we want Pau back in Memphis. We don’t want to have to run him out of town again. Remember when the Pau trade was surposed to be the worst trade in the history of the NBA. How ya like us now with Marc? That trade also allowed us to bring Z-Bo to town. For those giving Pau credit for winning two championships I say get real. Sure Pau finally showed up in the Finals and helped, but any other good big man playing alongside Kobe and Bynum, and either Metta or Ariza could have brought home the bacon
