Just to be clear, Bucks have no plans to trade Brandon Jennings

Milwaukee Bucks management has some big-picture questions to answer going forward: What kind of team are they trying to build? Who best to coach that style of team? What players on the roster fit that system? Which need to be traded?

Just know that whatever trades are coming down around the deadline, Brandon Jennings will not be part of them. Jennings is giving the Bucks 18.5 points a game (on just 40.9 shooting, which is still better than Monta Ellis) and 5.8 assists per game.

Jennings will be a restricted free agent next summer but the Bucks like the idea of seeing what the market for him is (and if they want to match) rather than trading him now, reports Marc Stein at ESPN.

Sources close to the situation stress, however, that restricted free agent-to-be Brandon Jennings is the least likely Buck to be dealt in-season, even though Milwaukee declined to sign Jennings to a contract extension between July 1 and Halloween when it had the chance.

Bet on a front line guy getting moved — Samuel Dalembert and Drew Gooden can be had if you want them, Stein says. If you want solid backcourt help Beno Udrih can be had.

But not Jennings. Which makes sense… depending on what kind of team the Bucks want to be.
