Few things buddy… I didn’t say they are championship caliber w/o D. Rose actually, the Bulls are really middle of the road minus Rose but WITH him they are. A number 1 seed going into the playoffs is all of the proof I need that they can contend.

The ’04 Pistons aren’t comparable to the Bulls. A better comparison would be the ’11 Dallas Mavericks. They had Dirk carry them past that “big 3″ of Miami. Please don’t say “well the also had Jason Kidd” because while effective, he was just a piece to the puzzle

You didn’t answer the question of why the Lakers w/ all of their stars aren’t winning???

If this was so absurd then they wouldnt have lost to the sixers the way they did in the playoffs without d rose. The last time a team one a championship without a superstar caliber player is the 04 Pistons.

Not saying they win the championship with rose but to say that this team is championship caliber without him or disagreeing with the premise that a superstar is needed….that sir, is absurd.

@maltliquor Yes, actually. We need to trade JJ, his value has never been higher and he is a FA after the season. We are rebuilding, so flipping talented veterans for picks and young players is key. CHI seems like a good spot for him to land. It would have to be a contender to max out the trades value. Plus, JJ would help their team a lot, I think. Win/win.

Wow, the ex bench mob guys are playing worse with a lesser coach? Really? Oh, and Asik suddenly is an offensive threat now that he ISN”T on the Bulls. He killed us when he played them. We went from have the best record in the entire NBA two years in a row to be slightly above .500. And that’s acceptable? Or desirable? Ridiculous. The only reason they’re winning at all is because of Thibs talent as a coach. But hey, if John Paxson really wanted to find out how Vinny Del Negro would do when he got some talent to coach he had a chance to find out this year! It doesn’t matter how good the coach is, if you don’t give him players that can win there is nothing that can be done. The Bulls look like a rag tag bunch of misfits that have played some amazing games thanks to hard work by some key players. Unfortunately, when those players go south they can’t even beat the Bobcats.

After the Sandy Hook shooting Noah promised to retire his finger-guns celebration. Guess what I saw him do after sinking a mid-range jumper in the 1st quarter of the Knicks game? Hypocrite. I never asked him to stop the celebration but the fact that he grabbed headlines in America’s hour of mourning to make a false promise…

They aren’t missing a sharpshooter, theyve gone from near last to about the middle of the league in 3pt%. We have rip, deng, marco, radmonovic, robinson and now cook who can hit threes. They need a scorer who can create his own shot when the play breaks down. Those kind of guys just simply aren’t in numerous amounts in this league. With D-Rose out, just making the playoffs is an accomplishment for this roster. You can’t win every game.

and really? keep korver? for $5 million? use your head. lucas is playing terrible for toronto, cj watson is incredibly ‘meh’ with the nets, brewer is out of the knicks rotation. omer is shooting 43% on fts. use your head. reading these comments are maddening. If you don’t know basketball, or don’t follow close enough, dont comment.

1. Who cares those that doubt if they are championship caliber. How often are they right?

2. @ gmsingh saying its because they lack superstars is absurd… How’s superstar thing working out for the Lakers?

3. The return of D. Rose should help sure things up. The Bulls play some of the best team ball in the league but, Derrick opens things up by being able to get his own shot. No one else on the team can really do that so it’s an added dimension.

I blame a lack of superstars and a need to play at a very high energy level all the time to win for the Bulls’ inconsistent record. I think losing Korver and not having a really good outside shooter to fall back on was a very dumb move by the Bulls management.
