But when you say he did better than these 3 random players who people think are great mid-range shooters, that just sounds like cherry picking to me. Did those 3 have off years? Did they take more heavily contested shots? Were Griffin’s shots wide open, and did he turn down the shots that were even somewhat contested? It’s easy to lie with statistics my friend, there was even a best-selling book about it.

The fact is that 30 points in a game is good, but lots of players have 30 point games and don’t get an entire post about it. Hell, Tim Duncan had a 30 and 20 game earlier this season and it didn’t get a post here.

Would you disagree that Griffin has garnered a lot of media attention and praise based on his athleticism and highlight plays as opposed to his all-around game?

His foot work has improved this season without a doubt, and he has cut down on his egregious flopping, thankfully. But let me know when he develops a jumper to spread the floor and decides to play some defense. Then he will be worthy of the media fawning that’s been heaped on him.
