if the picture above is at a kings home game, then they have no excuse for whining and crying about losing their team when the entire upper deck in that picture is empty. only bandwagoned the team for a couple years from 2002-2004 or so

Once again, and I’m glad to see more fans recognizing this, there is pretty much 4 or less franchises that can really handle these two. Being a Spurs fan, Cousins’ skill set, height and salary are exactly what they need. His attitude can be changed. He needs a winning culture to develop. If the Kings and other bottom feeding teams had different personnel, they would not be the vicious cycle that they are.

Does anyone honestly think Pop can’t get the max out of either of these guys? Anyone else think he wouldn’t need even 2 seasons to do it?

Explain to me how a better ‘organizational fit’ will improve his ability to shoot the ball. The organization doesn’t pass him the ball or decide when he shoots it.

Like nbascreed said, he needs a place where he can develop. We saw in his rookie year that he could play, but Sacramento isn’t the best place to develop one’s talent. I feel that both Evans and Cousins would strive in a more stable environment, with a no nonsense coach and an owner/front office who would put the right pieces around them. It shouldn’t take 3 years to see which position he plays best yet.

The Lakers have nothing that would interest to trade for Evans. Their frontcourt seems intact, so long as Robinson continues to develop and Cousins gets out of his own way. So a trade of Gasol for Evans likely wouldn’t interest the Kings. The Celtics can offer up a decent package, but nothing mindblowing. The most reasonable offer would be Gay for Evans, but then that doesn’t make either team any better, and might make the Grizzlies a little worse in the short term. So even that trade doesn’t entirely work. If he gets traded, look for a team to swoop in under the radar and make a much better offer than the teams listed above. The only question is what team and what player(s).

Nobody wants Evans before they try to get Cousins along with him. But good luck Seattle trying to trade Evans with all the injuries and coach Smart’s horrible lack of continuity in the backcourt.

‘Inland Empire’ was 2006. How about ‘Wild at Heart’ (1990)? Sadly, DL’s filmography is far more interesting than the King’s possible trade deadline moves.

I really hope that whoever lands him will put together a 2-3 year plan to DEVELOP his game. It’s clear that he has the talent, but I can’t help but think that Sacramento isn’t the best organization for actually developing a pro. I look at guys’ like Jimmy Harden and Rusty Westbrook or the whole San Antonio roster for the last 10 years and think to myself “that’s what player development is…”
