I think you misread that sentence. The writer was referring to “a team” and how recently, no team that has changed coaches and made a blockbuster trade in the same year have won a title.

“That’s certainly good to hear for Lakers fans, considering that a team that has changed its head coach and made a blockbuster trade within the same season hasn’t won a title in recent years.”

Great post !The Yankees get Mega $$$ for the cable rights and like the Lakers they are built every year to win. But remember, Time Warner is the same stupid cable company that had a major hissy fight with MSG cable when Linsantiy was hot !! They refused to cut a deal for months. Of course, Herr Stern was too busy counting his $$ to notice or do a freaking thing about it.

Gasol would be gone already if they’d gotten a good offer. But he’s been hurt, has looked “off” even when healthy for most of the last two seasons, and he’s not a guy a struggling team would rebuild around. The teams that would really want him are the ones thinking they’re just one piece away who wouldn’t be willing to give up part of their nucleus to get him.

Time Warner Cable has committed to paying 3 billion dollars (with a “B”) for the rights to televise the games of one of professional sports most successful and popular franchises.

Currently, the Lakers are neither the most successful or popular team playing at the Staples Center.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Laker fans lose interest and begin cancelling their inflated Time Warner Cable subscriptions…

Don’t let the little idiot buss boy’s false bravado fool you, you better believe he’s panicking that Daddy Buss will wake up and fire his worthless behind. Considering how well the Lakers normally play this dismal season is more than enough reason for us Laker fans to panic. The Laker woes will not end until the Lakers fire Dumbtoni and trade away Ancient Nash, the most sorry excuse for a point guard.

Let’s face it, Jerky Boy Jimmy doesn’t have a clue about what to do and neither does Kupcake. They’d better find a way to get some better talent on the bench and a great young point guard. I just wish Daddy Buss will be smart enough to give the reins of the team over to Phil and Jeanie once they’re married. I think Phil would be a natural for taking over Jerky Boy Jimmy’s job and it would be sweet poetic justice for all of us Laker fans who despise the little rich spoiled brat who is totally clueless.

A big reason the lakers have been successful over the years is because they are patient, and they don’t make stupid trades (like the idiots that say trade kobe). I am one of the many people that hates Jim Buss, but I agree with what he’s saying. Why should they panic when this team hasn’t had any time to play with each other? Yea it’s scary they might miss the playoffs but that’s only because they might run out of time. They have the smartest backcourt in the league, and Dwight howard, who took Turkoglu to the finals. There’s nothing that will help the lakers by panicking right now, they have all the pieces they need to win now and next year. This is a 2 year team.

As a long-time Laker fan, I think they have a chance.

But they have not done anything yet but play good basketball during the regular season.

Why not wait until they hang a banner in the rafters before you crown their arse?

Even if they did win one then they need to win another right away and go to a third finals the very next year to be compared to the Lakers recent success.

I hope they do win though. It will be good for them and LA.

They have a long way to go before they take over the Lakers.

No worries. Lakers will be flush with cap space starting in 2014. You think players will not want to come to LA? Check the history of the league. The Lakers will still be a top destination for free agents.

That CP3 trade was a bad decision wasn’t it. They almost pulled that off and now it is not looking too good for the Hornets either.

He managed to get Howard and got rid of Bynum. Another bad move.

Getting Nash may or may not be considered bad but he still is better than Blake.

Jim Buss may not be too smart but to think he has not done anything right is really not based on any recent facts.

Contrary to public belief, Mike Brown got himself fired. If you are coaching the Lakers which happens to be a pretty good job in the NBA, then you better get it done.

I think it is time to move on from Jim Buss… The Lakers need to operate like a business and Jimmie boy appears to let personal feelings get in the way. We (as fans) knew Kobe was old, we knew Bynum was more of a liability and we knew all the Lakers’ had for trade bate was Bynum and Gasol. The Lakers should have been looking to the future trying to build something new, not just bring in as many retreads as humanly possible. I know that isn’t the traditional Laker way, but the Laker way isn’t working for us now and unless the franchise gets lucky, it will continue to fail the fans. The Lakers are a great franchise, but what (pro)athlete in their right mind would ever want to end up coming to LA, or California for that matter (what you people vote for makes you insanely stupid), once Kobe is gone and the team has nothing going for it? At this point in time, the team is OLD and has nothing to look forward to for the future.
