What you describe is simply good basketball. Just because other teams succeed in spite of not playing the game well is no reason to be surprised that a team that does play the game well has a measure of success.Good defense,patience,aggressive rebounding at both ends.Who knew?

I watched their game against the heat. I think their defense is the best i’ve seen. they defend the paint and perimeter better than any team, the stats speak for itself.

who cares how they do it as long as they win. why focus on their schedule? they have no control over it and have won the games they should win,isn’t that what they are suppose to do? maybe they used the experience of getting beat in the playoffs as motivation to work on their defense. the offense will get better as time goes on as hibbert will not continue to blow easy baskets and granger will return. if he comes back to form george and the other guys will only get better if defenses have focus on him.

The Pacers have a lot of plus individual defenders, but no one in their right mind expected them to have the league’s most efficient defense 35 games in.

After observing last year’s team at the end of the season and in the playoffs, it would take someone with a patently absurd mind to be surprised by it.
