Rockets mascot smashes cake in Lakers fan’s face (VIDEO)

Jan 9, 2013, 4:43 PM EST

Add this to our growing “kicking the Lakers’ fans while they are down” file….

Look, these kind of things are staged. Because lawyers run NBA teams and if you just did this to some random guy in a seat the lawsuit would be filed before the game ended. Besides, if you were sitting at a game and a mascot smashed a cake in your face out of nowhere is “calm” how you would react?

Still, this is pretty funny. Because that is about as good a pastry-to-the-face as you are going to see outside of watching The Great Race.

The cake in the face from Clutch has been a common occurrence at Rockets games for years

    • eventhorizon04 - Jan 9, 2013 at 5:03 PM

Is it normally a fan from the opposing team?

  2. eventhorizon04 - Jan 9, 2013 at 5:03 PM

    Yeah, definitely staged.

They got an actor to dress up as a stereotypical Lakers fan – a guy in a Kobe jersey talking on his cell phone during the game – who got hit in the face with a cake to amuse the kids in the crowd.

    Funny and harmless.

True, lakers fans are like celebrities, they go to games so they can be seen on tv. Usually you see them on their phones why the lakers getting smashed.

Send the food to the Food Banks. Or throw it at Stern.Get the guy that threw a cake at Murdoch with his Bruce Lee wife to handle that assigment.

A typical Laker bozo ending up with a face full of goo while watching his favorite team. Why is this news?

It’s ez to hate people who can afford cell phones

    • mazblast - Jan 9, 2013 at 10:51 PM

We don’t hate people who can afford cell phones, as we’re almost all among that group. We hate people who go out in public, including movies, ballgames, and restaurants, and spend their entire time talking (usually too loudly) on their cell phones.

Anyway, this was clearly staged. If that guy was a real Lakers fan, he’d never have stopped talking on the cell phone.

You overestimate the intelligence of a Faker fan.
