The bigger story here is how Tim Duncan refuses to go gently into that goodnight. It’s pretty amazing that he has turned the downside of his career around, even if just a little. You don’t see that very often. Curtis Martin comes to mind, and that was only for one year. Timmy really looks good lately.

I’ve been a DeJuan Blair fan since Pitt and sad to see this happen to him. Probably the classiest franchise in the NBA who seemingly snatched him in the draft found a way to lose him in the rotation. I believe in fresh starts, and hopefully he gets one somewhere. I doubt the spurs move him to a serious contender tho.

Thunder are looking for a post presence and supposedly Maynor is on the block? Doubt the Spurs would help them after last year though.

I remember when they (sports media) said Blair was a mistake, seeing as how those ligaments don’t exist, etc.. Kudos to him for making it this far and being a good player, beast on the glass. The similarities to Sullinger are uncanny.

Good question.
Miami’s own first round draft pick in 2012 is gone due to the LeBron James sign-and-trade with Cleveland.

However, Miami has a lottery-protected pick from Philadelphia that it earned by trading down in the 2012 NBA draft. Philadelphia used Miami’s 27th overall pick to select Arnett Moultrie in 2012.

In addition, some teams have expressed interest in Norris Cole, Miami’s first round pick in 2011, who serves as the primary backup point guard.

Those are the pieces that would be in play I think in exchange for a bench player on San Antonio.

^^^How losers think. Looking at the negative first. What you get in return is a player off your team that doesn’t fit in the long term plans. That roster spot can be used to do what the Spurs do better than most teams: develop unwanted talent.

I’m not sure why San Antonio would make a deal that would help the Heat. And what does Miami have that San Antonio would want in return?
