If you are Mark Cuban, do you just put a line in your personal annual budget that reads “league fines — $100,000” and assume you’ll end up having pay it?

As expected, the league has fined Marc Cuban $50,000 for his tweet and comments criticizing officials recently. The league did not formally announce this fine (as they do with player fines) but the Associated Press got a league spokesman to confirm it.

Cuban both tweeted his frustration out, apologizing to NBA fans for the officials and saying, “I’ve tried for 13 years to fix the officiating in this league and I have failed miserably. Any suggestions? I need help.” He also told ESPNDallas.com about how the Mavs have stopped sending in video to the league office because it doesn’t do any good.

The second Cuban hit send on that tweet, he had to know the fine was coming. It’s probably within his budget.
