YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!! I was pulling for this since the off season. Birdman is a tough bastard and perfect to take over the Haslem role (since Haslem is aging) of defensive enforcer. Might as well put “Thug” on the back of Birdman’s Heat jersey.

Teams were waiting to see if charges would eventually be filed.

It’s basically reached the point where it’s unlikely he’ll ever be charged, given how long it’s been.

And he gives a team terrific rebounding and good effort on defense.

Yep compared to what some other athletes have been convicted of like Donte Stallworth, Leonard Little, etc., its surprising that Birdman hasn’t gotten a look. He’s good on the boards and brings energy.

Surprised nobody has signed him before now. If he’s healthy he can help on the boards and with hustle. His “legal problems” as the article calls them were kind of bizarre and since no charges have been filed by now, none likely ever will be. (It was initially reported he was in trouble for messing around with an underage chick, but later it came out the girl…possibly underage, or maybe not…was trying to extort money from him.)

Worth a look. Terrell Harris and Josh Harrelson weren’t playing anyway. If birdman looks like he has something left, sign him. If not, you can always re-sign the young guys you just released, or try other end-of-the-bench fodder on for size.
