It’s absolutely crazy thinking about that (I backed them fully coming in but nobody expected this!) given how they were last year but you’re right. If the outside shots from the 1, 2 and 3 keep falling then yeh they could go far. Especially with Lee producing and Bogut (go Aussie!) coming back. Remember when everyone had a dig at the Mark Jackson selection? That was fun haha. Wearing the white shirts the other day against the Clippers I had this weird playoff flash forward as Curry got his and-1 vs Paul. It felt right. If not this year then defs, 2 years and they are full on title contenders

The All Star reserves aren’t a popularity contest, but I see your point. I mean top 5 power forwards (in no order Blake, LaMarcus, Z-Bo, Love) are all in the West, so it would be tough to beat the others out

Great comment! Something tells me Bogut is doing a lot of good things off of the game court. Watching Bogut play earlier in the season, then seeing Biedrins doing things I’ve never seen him do before, I would bet a lot of skills are being transferred from Bogut to the other centers.This type of presence is a lot more valuable than anything one player can do alone. It’s more important that Bogut doesn’t count himself out of the picture while he’s injured than where he fits into the picture on the court.

I love the way the W’s are playing but to me I’ve basically counted Bogut out & if he returns & provides useful minutes great. To me understanding how to play winning basketball was more important to start the rebuilding process vs climbing to the elite in one season. GS has proved that they’ve learned how to play team basketball,something lifelong W’s fans have forgotten. I feel next season shows great promise. This season falls on the back of Ezeli & Biedrins. GS will go just about as far as they can carry them. Great for the regular season but lets see what happens come playoff time in the money games .GS still hasn’t shown me they can finish consistently vs teams w/size & physical presence. Loosing to Orlando has me thinking. Yes we’ve beat the Clip’s twice (& Miami once) but I see it as Jackson’s using common sense & guarding Griffin w/Ezeli/Biedrins & putting Lee on Jordan who has less offensive presence in the paint. Give GS another season to get the whole group healthy as when both Rush & Bogut join the party maybe I’ll be singing world championship as others. As I say we’re going as far as Ezeli/Bogut can carry us. Curry & Lee both have shown leadership value this season & I feel that if Curry can stay healthy & Lee can play as he has GS has possibilities but are they W/Championship possibilities? Reality to me is next season. As I’ve stated other places I just wanted to watch competitive basketball after last season’s misery & GS has answered my prayers.

No question Kurt. Been a fan since ’62. Name the last MVP coming from the W’s? Can’t cause there’s none to the best of my knowledge. We get little recognition or ink in Oakland. I think Lee will make it but Curry will get rubbed raw. Both are deserved but again as you stated the NBA is a popularity contest & GS hasn’t earned their wings in the last 5 years. Again Lee plays for the W’s not the Lakers or Miami lol. After last season I’m rather surprised that the NBA didn’t send the W’s franchise to the “D” league anyway. Nevertheless this season I’m the one spitting on my Laker buddy & sure enjoying the moments.

I agree. They match up very well against all of the top teams accept for the Lakers and Memphis. Those front lines will give the Dubs fits.Ezeli is playing fine for a rookie, but he has horrible hands and is a liability on the offensive end. Biedrins is playing well of late and isnt looking like the un-tradeable bench warmer he was when the season began. How far the Warriors go will depend on if they get a healthy Bogut back and how fast they can incorporate him into the already great chemistry they have been building. All in all, its looking up for the Warriors.

Its a popularity contest for the starters, ala Jeremy Lin possibly starting over Chris Paul. There is virtually no excuse for Lee not to make the team via the coaches. Warriors, along with other perennial bad teams, usually get the “good player on bad team” excuse. That one wont work this year.

If Bogut stays healthy when he comes back, GS may find themselves in the WCF possibly going to the real Finals. They have a stud at every position in their starting lineup, plus Landry and Jack’s double digit scoring off the bench.

Probably the most underrated contender not being talked about in the league. Mark Jackson should be currently considered the favorite for COY. Amazing how he took this team from being a sub-.500 team year after year to a few games from the top seed in the West in just his second season and didn’t have any prior coaching experience.

I’m not questioning Lee’s play, I’m saying that in a deep West with good players not making the game it will not be easy for Lee. This is a popularity contest.

Borderline? Are you insane!?!?!?!? The guy is the only guy in the league averaging 20/10 on one of the top 5 teams in basketball. And just put on a display against the guy who will start the All-star Game (Blake Griffin). If that weren’t enough he is also averaging more assists/game than 8 of the top 10 front court vote getters (Only Durant and Marc Gasol average more). The guy is doing everything. There is nothing borderline about David Lee being an All Star.

Went to the W’s game against the Sixers – aside from some frustrating plays borne out of youthful inexperience – these guy look really good. They are passing better, rotating better on defense, Jack and Landry are making big contributions. There were a bunch of rookie passes happening, throwing into traffic, and Thompson drives me nuts because when he comes down the court on offense he totally ignores the game behind him until he reaches his spot – but those are quibbles. They hustle and shoot. I can see them winning 48 if they stay healthy…
