Blake Griffin has awkward fall after flagrant foul by Ezeli (VIDEO)

Jan 3, 2013, 1:08 AM EDT

Blake Griffin starts his drive from the top of the key, goes right and blows by Festus Ezeli and as he starts to elevate for the shot Ezeli hooks his arm.

The result is an awkward and ugly foul that earned Ezeli a flagrant one foul.

Griffin laid on the ground for a little bit grabbing his head but continued in the game. Frankly, spinning upside down and grabbing their head in pain pretty much sums up the Clippers second straight loss.

“and as he starts to elevate for the shot Ezeli hooks his arm.”

Not really a fair description, watch it again, he grabs the arm, Blake takes one step and a second, then leaps into the air. It’s a nasty fall, but nothing like J.R. Smith being reckless while a player is in a vulnerable position.

Either that’s the biggest flop I’ve seen yet or Blake seriously needs to get in the weight room ASAP. No way having an arm pulled makes someone of BG’s stature do a 360 spinning fall to the ground.

looks like some flagrant capoeira to me.

If youve ever played basketball you know when you jump your vulnerable. to even the smallest contact you can lose your footing and crash to the ground. hes throwing all his momentum into one direction and his top half is being pulled down, your gonna spin or flip.

that would be the case if he jumped then got pulled to the ground. Ezeli grabbed his arm and instead of stopping like a normal person, he launched himself into the air.

I’d put my hands on my head too if I knew I was about to pay a huge flopping fine.

It was a stupid foul. If you are going to hook someone like that, at least try to grab him. He could have split his coconut on the floor.

dude you are so right, looked like he was trying to take him out of the game

Unlike football players, basketball players are not covered from head to foot in protective gear. How many players are sitting on the bench now from hard fouls? I don’t always agree with the refs, but someone needs to make sure the players are given every opportunity to play safely.

Really Kurt??? Let the fan’s have who they want??? So if enough ppl vote for Javale McGee, should he start or even make the team???? That’s the problem with letting fans vote. It’s nothing more then a popularity contest. It’s shouldn’t be about, who the fans want too be there. It’s should be about who has played the best and DESERVE’S too be there. Sorry everybody but Chuck is right!!!!

You mean the guy who commits an offensive foul whenever a defender is in his way when he tries to dunk was on the other end this time? Live by the sword….
