JaVale McGee hits first ever three, celebrates by trying to cool off hot hand (VIDEO)

Jan 2, 2013, 12:59 PM EDT

This should have been the moment Clippers fans realized the streak was about to dieJaVale McGee had never hit an NBA three pointer before but he drained this one.

But my favorite part is the celebration — blowing on his fingers to cool them off. Classic JaVale.

By the way, I love the yellow Denver unis.

How is it, that it’s an absolute fact, that JaVale McGee one of the leagues most entertaining players? For the right reasons, for the wrong reasons, he’s just pure entertainment.

Agreed, the guy’s so oblivious it’s hilarious.

Javale would be best playing for the Harlem Globetrotters. Pure entertainment, in a buffoon-ish way.

javale is pretty entertaining thas for sure.
as for the celebration part, it looked like he was tryna indicate it was finger licking good !

Props on posting this vid Kurt but your off on the celebration assessment.

This is McGee’s “finger lickin’ good” celebration as relayed by the Altitude Sports (local network) crew.

McGee for 3 was an incredible moment in this game.

JaVale wasn’t trying to cool off his hot hands. He was mixing it up as the announcer said and then tasted it. Listen the league will not be the same when this freakishly talented guy puts it together. He’s got the pedigree and the ability. One day it will just click. It is like taking Physical Chemistry. You beat your head up on the thermodynamics or the quantum mechanics parts and then one day, baaammm!!! Just like that, it clicks.

I hope he puts it all together soon, he reminds me of Darryl Dawkins, “Chocolate Thunder:. Darryl could destroy backboards and hit 20 foot jumpers and run the break.
