A lot of NBA coaches wish they had Vinny Del Negro’s problem — too many talented players to give minutes to. Because the Clippers are winning there is little grumbling, but it’s a challenge Del Negro and others have admitted to.

Soon there will be another wing player demanding minutes on the active roster.

Grant Hill should be back with the Clippers later this month from the bone bruise that has kept him out since preseason, he tells the Los Angeles Times.

He said he has “ramped up” his workout activity.

So Hill was asked what date he has in mind to play.

“Sometime in January,” is all Hill would say. “Hopefully soon I’ll get to start practicing a little bit,” he said. “They are stressing that a lot of it is how you respond. So a target date could be sooner, it could be later. You want to let your body dictate that.”

The Clippers also have Chauncey Billups on the sidelines with tendonitis in his foot. It may be next month before he returns. Bu at some point after the All-Star break that is two more guys to divide up the finite minutes on the wings.

However, those are two veteran guys who have seen a lot, the kind of guys you want in the locker room come the playoffs. Guys you can count on when things get tight.

We’ll see how much Hill can contribute off the Clippers bench, but quality minutes are quality minutes and he will give them.

Sorry Grant, Matt Barnes took all your minutes and he’s not gonna give ‘em back!

I doubt it matters to Grant, even if he gets 7 mins a game he’s going to give the Clip 7 solid mins.

One of the classiest players in the NBA. Believe me, Suns fans miss Grant Hill on equal terms with Steve Nash, if not moreso, because Nash went to the hated Lakers and we kinda like the Clippers just because it pisses Laker fans off that they aren’t the best team in their own city.

Chris Paul’s incredible handles and 4-5 plays a game that make your jaw drop help too. best PG in the NBA and it’s not even close (Rondo maybe in that argument, but he doesn’t have the leadership, the intangibles CP3 brings). He’ll find a way to make everyone go “wow Grant Hill still has it!”

Clippers get back 2 players who can double as assistant coaches. Hoop IQ off the wall and class acts. Clippers ‘s bench can beat most starting teams 5.Lakers bench good for getting Chinese take out food.
