C’mon now. The Kings are giving up a “franchise” player in their (and their fans’) mind. Lamb, Zeller and picks that could be out of the top 5 aren’t going to get it done. There is NO need for them to panic trade the guy, since they’re not making the playoffs this year anyway.

Wait for some sucker to trade them a valuable piece in exchange for the next Derrick Coleman.

Don’t understand why Detroit is still a potential landing spot for Cousins. We have Greg Monroe, who’s just as good as Cousins, and Andre Drummond, who has the potential to be one of the most dominating rebounders in the game.

Wow that was pretty impressive! Usually people post trades that make absolutely no sense or a trade that no one from the Kings would accept because they only look at it one sided. But your trades took all three teams needs into account and its hard to say that wont happen. Great job, I can see all the teams going with that one.

Cavs eat a ton of contracts, but they’ve never been afraid to do that in the past thanks to Dan Gilbert. SAC gets a couple of young prospects, a top 5 pick from the Cavs, and a top 10 pick from OKC (Toronto’s pick), maybe even another 1st rounder from the Cavs as they also have Miami’s pick, or Cavs next year’s pick, or 2nd rounder… OKC gets Anderson Varejao and unloads Perkins ugly contract. Varejao has a PER of 23 and Perkins 7.8… NBA Trade Machine estimates OKC’s win total goes up by 8. That’s pretty insane, if you know the NTM pretty well.

CLE get Cousins, Salmons, Perkins
OKC get Varejao
SAC get Lamb, Zeller + picks from both CLE & OKC

In Kurts’ mind, trades never happen. It’s going to happen, maybe not the the teams listed, but it’s inevitable at this point. It may not even happen this season, but it will happen. They may even replace Keith Smart first, and then do it. Why would a team give up the farm for a troubled big man with maturity issues? He’s very talented, and could go on to become the best center in the league if he wants to. But he’s not worth giving up that much in return for, not yet. His maturity issues and inconsistency will continue to keep his trade value low for the time being. If Houston hadn’t swung the James Harden trade, Cousins will already be in a Rockets uniform.
