Dwyane Wade responds to suspension, says he’s ‘far from being a dirty player’

Dwyane Wade was suspended one game by the league for kicking Ramon Sessions in the groin during Wednesday night’s game game against the Bobcats.

It’s pretty clear the play was intentional on Wade’s part, especially when viewing the replay in slow motion. Wade said otherwise, however, via his Twitter feed Thursday night.

Interestingly enough, Wade also addressed the increasing perception that he’s becoming a “dirty player” at the same time.

It’s impossible to know whether or not Wade truly believes any of this, of course, but it’s likely that he does. Players are pretty insulated from the so-called real world, and do so intentionally for the most part to avoid the distraction that can come from a barrage of outside noise from fans and media alike.

After this first message, Wade sent one more, this time invoking his responsibility as a father to try to prove that his actions were in fact unintentional.

It’s tough to envision Wade’s children flashing before his eyes right before extending the leg that caught Sessions.

Wade may very well have the best intentions when competing at the highest level. But his on-court actions have shown a body of work that says he lets emotion get the better of him at times, and when that’s happened, it hasn’t been pretty for his opponents.

Assuming Wade really wrote those tweets and not some PR guy it seems that he has really lost touch of reality. He can’t man up and own anything, he’s too good for that.

Dwyane Wade channeled “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair on that kick to the groin. (Ric Flair voice) “Wooo Daaddyy!”

Isn’t wade the same guy who broke Kobe’s nose last year?

In an all-star game no less… Also, +1 to Doc2r Phonics.

    Dear Wade,

2wards doesn’t sound like towards. You can’t always replace a “to” with the #2.

So he’s using the flopping defense.

  12. canehouse - Dec 28, 2012 at 5:35 PM

Blah, Blah, Blah… You haters would love to have him playing for your team… Spare the BS lies… Those they say he is broken… Rubbish!!! Yea his numbers are down… but he is still a 20/4/4 producer… and oh yeah, he has KING JAMES carrying the bulk of the scoring.

  13. bigwii - Dec 28, 2012 at 5:37 PM

Don’t forget the game vs. Indiana in the playoffs where he pushed Collison in the back while he was running full speed on a break.

    • philtration - Dec 28, 2012 at 9:08 PM

Or Wade delivering a forearm to Rip Hamilton’s face and throwing a punch at Joakim Noah.
Not only did Wade not even get called for the foul but Noah got a T for calling Wade an “A**hole”
In the same game Noah was driving to the basket and Wade dove at his legs from behind causing Noah to land hard on his back while poor little Dwyane rolled around on the floor like HE was the one that got hurt.

He has gotten away with murder for a long time.

And terrorists don’t refer to themselves as terrorists.

The funniest Dwhine Wade moment was when he asked for a wheelchair after he separated his shoulder. What a pansy!

  18. sabatimus - Dec 28, 2012 at 6:30 PM

I feel sorry for his kids.

  19. emosnar - Dec 28, 2012 at 7:12 PM

    Top Dwayne Wade dirty plays:
    – Breaks Rondo’s elbow
    – Mocking Dirk just to get smacked down in the Finals
    – Twisting Danny Grangers wrist in a tangle up
    – Kicks Sessions in the nuts
    – Should tackles Darren Collision
    – Breaks Kobe’s nose during a freakin all star game

Now lets add the fact he’s always complaining to the refs. Then prances in the media about how he is a stand up guy and a proper role model for his kids even though he takes them away from their mom and gets a restraining order. Just started taking responsibility for them recently. Lebron get away as fast as you can. D Wade your talent is good enough not to add the dirty cheap shots. Everyone knows you are dirty bro. It just taints your legacy. Keep making Stockton and Thomas proud you prick.

    Anyone remember shoegate?

  21. fventricle - Dec 28, 2012 at 7:14 PM

    Wade’s a twat.

  22. passerby23 - Dec 28, 2012 at 7:18 PM

Dirty Wade plays off the top of my head:

    1. Shoving an unprovoked Rip Hamilton to the ground last year.
    2. The Darren Collison hip check in last year’s playoffs.
    3. The Rondo elbow incident.
    4. Kobe’s broken nose.
    5. Kicking Ramon Sessions in groin.
    6. Wade throwing Mike Bibby’s shoe away after Bibby lost it during the play.

Wade is dirty, plain and simple. You can only excuse yourself so many times. Had he said something like, “I let my emotions get the better of me sometimes, and I apologize for that”, he would probably look a lot better.

  23. itsonlyaspeedbump - Dec 28, 2012 at 7:37 PM

and somehow LBJ, who never does stuff like this, is hated so much more than Wade…

    • cantonbound13 - Dec 28, 2012 at 8:33 PM

I must say LBJ has matured a lot over the last year. Wade just got more immature & pathetic. He has gotten dirty with his play as his game has deteriorated. That’s also why he’s resorted to flopping so much.

  24. paulhargis53 - Dec 28, 2012 at 8:54 PM

20/4/4?! Oscar Robertson, Dr. J, Magic Johnson and many others laugh at those numbers.
Wade is a punk bi**h. It’s not hating on someone if you’re speaking the truth.

  25. gvbulldogs - Dec 28, 2012 at 9:03 PM

I’m gonna take my balls and go home. dw
