From the NBA rules:

Five sides of the backboard (front, two sides, bottom and top) are considered in play when contacted by the basketball. The back of the backboard and the area directly behind it are out-of-bounds.

Didn’t Durant get called for an offensive fould on a bad flop, THEN get a tech for arguing? Let’s look how many HEAT players get techs for arguing, they do it every time someone falls.

Durant still got called on an obvious flop by Barea in the 4th, so that’s not entirely true. The NBA refs just make bad mistakes a lot

First of all, that was obviously all luck..Reggie Evans has the same chance of making that shot as Durant does.

Secondly, that was such a clear offensive foul – it doesn’t get much more obvious than that.

Well, let’s be realistic. It’s not luck in the same way that it would be luck for somebody of his stature. It was a tad bit of luck following something he does frequently enough to benefit from it.

That said, he charged on the play.

Isn’t the top of the backboard considered out of bounds? That’s all I remember being called whenever we shot 3s in middle school basketball.

The thumb downs you get merely show how OKC fans (and NBA refs) are essentially zombies.

Ridnour had his feet set well in advance of Durant plowing into him, the video is right there, and is indisputable. Sadly, Durant is a member of NBA aristocracy and Ridnour is merely a serf. Even in his house, he’s not going to get an obvious charge.

How hilarious it would be to read the melt-downs from OKC fans if Ridnour and Durant were exchanged on this very same play.

That went in because of luck, not because Durant was “using every part of the basket to get a shot to go down.”
